Up to 21.5 mpg thanks to rb header and muflers, bonez cat, k&n filter, and a msd box

It might not have used all the gas in the tank. The better way to measure your mpg is to fill the tank to full, record mileage, drive it a while, refill to full, then record mileage. Then find miles/gallons.
I average 19, or 16-17 city and 21-27 freeway. Typically 22-23 freeway but at 55 mph 26-27 is common. I think 17 city/25 freeway is typical on an RX-7 that works. If your car is getting 13 mpg or less either you're going 20 mph stop and go or your car needs repairs. |
through the years, ive seen my mileage range from 16-22 mpg , ive also noticed on all of the cars, 12a,13bna, na-t , fd, rx8 they all seem to get right around there regardless of boost or not.
the highest consistant mileage I noticed was when s4 6port turboed motor, with gutted interior, and the na transmission ( long 5th gear). I seem to be getting toward the lower end of the mileage with ported motors or the larger turbo setups, but my cruise and idle a/f could use more tuning which would help im sure. |
just wanted to add. our cars were made in the 80s and back then the speed limit of 55mph was not only a safety regulation but was also the speed for maximum fuel economy. as times moved on and technology got better the speed limit was brought up also to effect maximum fuel efficiency. i have noticed a bit of an increase in my mpg when i dove at 55 on fwy rather than at 65. just my $.02

40 mpg regularly. I have had 44 mpg..... oh, wait, For the RX-7, not so much. S5 N/A S4 keg, ported, partial emissions delete No cats, cherry bomb muffs. Probably about 10. I am on the loud pedal hard when I drive it. 20 or so mpg when I drive decent.
|
S4 totally stock except for a cobbled together exhaust system that started life as a Dynomax, with 168,000 on the clock. I get anywhere from 21 to 26 mpg, depending on the season. Used mostly as my work car, which is a commute of 15 miles of mostly flat 55 mph with a couple of lights/stop signs. No complaints on mileage.

306k miles... still getting 25.1

I drove across the state for an autox a couple weeks ago in the FC powered FB. I averaged 21mpg during the entire trip which includes around at least 15 autox runs (2 driver car + funruns). I'm quite pleased with it.:)

MPG?..don't care.
I just drive the car. SMILES per gallon..about 150! |
Recently my city mileage has jumped from @16-17mpg to a very consistent 20+mpg and I have no idea why.
End of this month I'm taking a long (3k+) trip and it'll be interesting to see if highway mileage (previously @25) increases proportionally. I always enjoy bringing my RX down from the mountains because it's so much stronger at sea level. |
I'm getting 0mpg as I can't get it running right hahaha but these posts give me hope for decent mileage!
|
Does anyone have any results of mpg with negative split timing? apparently its allows more lean ratios (15.5-16.5) while cruising as well as increased torque. If not I will be marking results after I have about 1000 miles on the engine.
|
I got 13 out of my straight piped stock fb, but I kind of hammered the gas pedal the whole week.

lol i can even get noway near 10mpg, but then again i do mess around a lot
|
I'm at 22.7 gals per mile, thats about 315 miles per gallon.
|
I seem to get 20-21mpg in the summer and around 18mpg in the winter. Probably a roughly 80/20 highway/city mix. I think my mods are in my sig still.
|
With the way i drive i get about 250 miles out of around 17-18 gallons in my na vert. So about 14 mpg. Which is sad.
|
I get around 15mpg in my s5 vert and for some reason it won't let me put more than 8 gallons in lol
