mother F!@%$ heater core
well after installing my clutch and flywheel today all is well untill my heater core dicides to blow up.i guess what happend was when i was taking off the coolant return line i cracked the heater core or something but now there is coolant all in my interior and it rulesQ!!1!11
should i crack my windows. how bad does the smell linger? and does anybody have a extra one they wanna sell me. |
Check the clamping at the firewall left nipple before removing the dash to change the heater core. Make sure the nipple is completely round and not squished at all.
The smell will generally only arise when the coolant can form vapour... So, the hotter the day, the more it will smell. It would be advisable to do your best to clean it out. |
i put a new clamp on the hose when i noticed it was leaking, and if the hose was lose i dont think i would have coolant all over the inside of my car.

A similar experience will happen if the clamp isn't completely tight... the bead on the nipple will keep the hose from shooting off. I speak from experience in this and only mention it because I find it odd for the problem to occur only after you have done work. |
i was kinda pryin on the hose kinda hard to get it off. so you think that it wouldnt break that easy? the nipple was kinda beat up i put the hose on as far as it could go and put a clamp on maybe it just need to straighten it out.
