k so whenever it does the whole hot start thing... the boost/vacuum gauge shows a lower number (like 14, as opposed to 17 or 19inHg when it runs normally)

I'm just going to bite the bullet and replace the ACV. I mean it buzzes as it is... so I might as well (if you have one let me know)

Curious though... are all the ACV's the same? If so, i have a buddy who tore apart an 87 gx... i might be able to buy it off him.

I have one off a 86 GXL, non turbo. Let me know if you find out whether or not they are all the same

Project84 06-29-03 09:18 PM

I looked, and I don't think they are the same

if boost/vac guage shows different number, should have to do with either the boost guage or the sensor... what makes you think it's the ACV?

Fingers 07-04-03 10:43 AM

... because the engine has less vacuum? Perhaps due to a vacuum leak?

I've always suspected an internal vacuum leak. There are certainly no external ones. I've tested everything.

But the ACV is giving me crap.
