Odd...I always use heavy metal ones to add weight to the throw. Makes for smoother, cleaner, and faster shifts and virtually eliminates mis-shifts.

I can manhandle that shifter just fine with a light knob and short rod, you must be a pansy. :) Mis shifts are usually me going too fast for the shifter, ie still too heavy, lol.

You can get the 5 Speed rotor shift knobs off rx7.com but they are nearly 100 bucks. When i bought my short shifter kit the guy threw in a greddy metal shift knob. Looks very clean with the black top, only problem is the leather boot is too big.

Hmmm- delrin, huh? I bet it doesn't get too hot, and feels nice and grippy...

Group buy awhile ago. Cant remember what I paid for mine though.... I thought it was more than $100. I guess you pay a price to have something when its new.

my brother has one and he has to put a bag over his to stop it from getting it too hot. so if you're not prepared to do that just get a leather one

'89Vert Sep 2, 2005 01:55 AM

Yah but that's goin to be the case with most all of the metal ones anyways...
