Matte Black Vinyl Wrap

For the whole car. I'm hoping to get some appearance modifications done on my car this winter, mainly a new hood and either paint or a wrap. The wraps seem to be really popular on exotics and really expensive cars. (I know my NA vert is neither of those). But regardless, all I have been able to find on here are satin painted cars and flat painted cars. Has anyone done an actual wrap by themselves? And how difficult was it? Pictures?

I'm not sure on the wrap. But you can paint a car satin black for less than $100. And it will actually look good and last.

my friend got his evo's hood and trunk wrapped with 3m carbon fiber wrap and tell you what, in about a month of sun, it started to bubble up. So either go to a professional and get wrapped up or paint it satin black, which is more perferable

Are you talking about Rattle canning, or something like the SEM hotrod kit?

I used Rustoleum in a gallon container. Mix it down with Acetone or mineral spirits, and spray it through any normal gun.

I painted an S10 with flat black about 4 years ago and it still looks great. Then I painted an Isuzu 2 years ago, gloss white, and it still looks like a brand new job.

Really durable and decent paint, and easy to spray.

Rustoleum? What kind, where from, and how much thinning do you do?

I'm also interested, but if I actually paint, I'm probably going to do it in purple...I think it would look legit...

Mix it like the directions on the can.

I picked mine up from Walmart.

Thats the reason I used Rustoleum. It's a single stage acrylic enamel.

I think I might just not go matte at all and find a single stage shade of purple I like, just need to find a booth to paint in, the garage gets chilly...
