Is it possible to swap a limited slip diff into a non-limited slip diff housing? I searched the archives, but couldnt find a deffinate answer. I have a '87 base model btw.

im pretty sure you can. the easiest way would be to just drop the whole assembly and swap it out tho. ive got an 87 sport and im lookin for a miata torsen to throw in my housing..

im guessing you swap would be similar to this, without the lsd already in. also, if you got your differential from another fc, you wouldnt need to swap the ring and pinion.

I just put in an LSD from a GXL (into my base) and the difference is amazing. And the housings are exactly the same, so the hardest part was just getting it off and on the car.

I've just swapped out the whole assembly. From a TII in a 86 base. Wasn't too hard either.
