Lighter is better!
I need both my car and girlfriend to lose some weight.... I had some lexan for my old corolla, but i never met the producer. Since the fc rear window is the largest on any production car from what i hear, i figured that would be a good area to look into. Anyone know of a place i can get lexan? I live in San Mateo, California. Thanks for the help!

how about the hood lol.
|
I have the GTUs so i have an aluminum hood. Im looking for a t2 hood just so i can have the hood scoop for a little extra ventilation. I plan on gutting it out and using it for autocross, so anything i can do is benefical.
|
look up " percys speed glass " online ... its nice stuff
|
grannysspeedshop.com sells lexan rear hatches as well as side windows
|
I wonder how long the speedglass would go before getting all scratched up? It sounds like it's coated, but I'm not sure how long that would offer protection.

I don't understand your logic, considering the TII hood would have little to no effect on your cars performance. |

How do you measure the temperature of the tranny? Why would it matter if it is colder? As far as i know a warm tranny is a good thing cause the lubrication is better. Putting a hoodscoop on a NA is pointless, and kinda funny too. |
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. Do NOT put lexan on a GTUs or a TII hood. Buy a TII and mess that up all you want but the GTUs is such a rare car we can't afford to have it with plastic windows and a ricey non working scoop. Sell it and buy a TII.

I don't understand your logic, considering the TII hood would have little to no effect on your cars performance. How does a vented hood not allow cooler air into the engine bay? So your saying hot air is better for your car? |

I don't understand your logic, considering the TII hood would have little to no effect on your cars performance. Losing 25 lbs isn't beneficial? |

Yeah I don't get it either, if anything he would want a vented hood. A TII hood will just bring in more air to blow the hot air around in there. He should get one of these hoods. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=533973 Wouldn't the cooler air being blown into the engine help cool it down? I thought that if you mix hot air in the engine bay with cooler air outside, then the air in the engine bay would be cooler overall compared to not having cold air pushed in. I guees i was wrong.... |
blacks5 you dont know what a GTUs is and thats the problem the guy has.. you truely SHOULDNT mess a car up especially when only a few thousand are made and if its a 90 only for few hundred. you should sell your car and get another .. any rx7 knowledgable owner would agree.. we arent being asses we are telling it how it is.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=533973[/QUOTE] I think thats a more ricey hood than a stock t2 hood. Thats just my opinion. |

the TII hood w/o an intercooler uptop is going to have adverse effects on the cooling system of your car if its not plugged up. air flows from in front of the bumper and through the radiator. with the addition of the hood scoop the air pressure or some shit increases and does not allow cool air to flow through the radiator, causing poor cooling. now if you were to plug up the scoop, then thats a different story.

NOW THAT IS A GOOD ARGUMENT. That i did not know and you are the first to state it in a way that is actually technically understandable compared to some others simply arguing that it is "ricey" or will "mess" it up. Thank you! Knowledge is your best weapon and i appreciate you sharing it with me. |
