Leak in clutch line
 

I have a leak somewhere in my clutch line or master cylinder or something but can not locate where.Has anyone had this problem or know what the problem could be.

so you dont see the leak? But you are losing fluid?

if you see it dripping from the bottom of the car, do you know where it is dripping?

I am not sure what its doing but if whats happening is when your car is in gear and the clutch pedal is pushed in the clutch will start to engage slowly it is most likely your slave cylinder. Its not a leak if you are not needing to add fluid. If you know its a leak in your clutch line just replace it.

Here is some help.

I've had it, and recently fixed it. It could be the old rubber clutchline. It may have a crack in it that is letting clutch fluid leak out. You will have to drive around with brake fluid in your car to go anywhere.

check your master cylinder, slave cylinder, and slave cylinder hose. all three things are all in similar positions, so it's a pretty easy leak to find.

I can see a drip under the car but I can't see where it comes from.

where under the car is it leaking?
if its from the middle of the car, its leaking from the slave cylinder, if its leaking more towards the right side, its possibly the clutch cylinder

What was it? Did you find the leak?

I have not had a chance to check again i'll let you know.

Also check the inside of the car near the pedal, the master cylinder can leak into the car.

20 year old car, if u can't find the leak just replace master and slave and toss on a corksport ss clutch line.

ss clutch lines don't make any sense unless it is cheaper then the rubber line. Your clutch line never gets enough pressure to make the rubber line expand so I don't see the point in upgrading it to ss.

-never have to replace it again
-never have to wonder if it's split or leaking
-looks a vrra niiiceah!

master cylinder; leaking fluid, clutch does not engage, clutch pedal acts normal

slave; leaking fluid slowly, hard to find leak, clutch pedal stays on floor, clutch is always on (put the car in 1st when it starts to act up; push clutch pedal to floor dont touch brake, if the car tries to move like its in gear your slave is bad cause its the one that releases the clutch)
Locate slave boot and squeeze the boot, if fluid comes out the slave is bad, the boot causes problems in finding a leak cause it can hold the fluid you lose and let it out slowly making the leak hard to find.

my clutchline was cracked from age. The rubber clutchline and the ss line have $3 difference. I was going to get a rubber one from autozone, but order one from mazdatrix. Just WD-40 it, I stripped my hardline, Oh, it also helps if you know the "righty tighty" and "Lefty Loosy", I got confused in the heart of the moment.:lol:

Actually, yes it does. Especially when your line has mega miles on it.

Plus your rubber line degrades and turns your clutch fluid to shit over time.

Disregard. Not sure how I got the Turbo II brakes system and the clutch system mixed up.
