Insurnace--For better or worse?

Is the insurnace say...just liability (i'm 16 and my parents aren't rich) for an 88-89 Turbo II cheaper than a regular 2 door because its old and cheap? could you compare it say to an integra or 2 door civic. color: red. which is highest?

i got a quote for me as a 16yr old for $210 for 6 months go to www.autotrader.com and go to insurance and fill the info out and they will send u the best prices also have the car in your mom or dads name it will lower cost ALOT

Cwaters 01-27-02 08:21 PM

Sounds a little high.. I think I pay about $25/mo. But I'm not 16 anymore either...and we have two other cars and a house with the same agent...

I'm 20 and have n '88 N/A, it's just over $100/month (from Alaska too...). The car is registered in AK, but I'm going to school down here in WA, insurance isn't any more expensive since I moved though...

vaughnc 01-28-02 10:28 AM

About $400/yr per car for me.

tIIforever 01-28-02 01:20 PM

my insurance is about 115 a month for my turbo II and thats liability

FCRyosuke07 01-28-02 01:29 PM

I am 17 with nothing on my license (yet) and I only pay like 300 every 6 months and I live in Maine. Truelly grate state, no emission laws and no crap from the state.

I pay 1300 a year for total coverage. I am also from Maine. I agree with the no emissions statement. The state does, however, fuck with us big time. The inspection there is more intense and severe than anything I have heard anyone else tell of. Granted we have no emissions, but that inspection process is a giant pain in the ass. Also the sticker sucks big ass. Oh, and having to have a front plate or getting a ticket sucks ass too!

Gene 01-29-02 09:10 AM

hehe you don't even want to know what I pay for liability only on my T2, it's way more than any of you. Doesn't help that I live smack in the middle of Brooklyn, NY. I don't get how 16 year olds can have a cheaper insurance than me, I'm 24 (though I've had license less than 3 years, I've had it longer than any 16 year olds!) and I have a perfect record... Ohwell, when time comes to renew I'll have had it 3 years so at least I'll get that discount

tesla042 01-29-02 09:33 AM

I'm 21, and it's 115$/month for my 88 N/A.. just liability.. bleh.. I've looked around elsewhere, and i ahven't been able to find anything cheaper at all! In Louisville, KY.

Shit I quoted full coverage on my FD and it was like for grand every six months (two speeding tickets). here in Ohio:eek:

FCRyosuke07 01-29-02 11:38 AM

insurance is such a ripoff...it should be set up so that at max coverage you only pay for the value of the car, when you are done paying that, you dont pay anymore. insurance should be a service, not a business, like the library or something like that.:D yea im a communist arent i.. its all those stupid uninsured drivers faults
