Seriously, is there a special tool that makes this a peice of cake?? |
Retaining ring pliers.

Emmmm SSBOV....Boost gobble gobble :(
|
HA. I've grown fond of the turkey7
|
having just had one of these put on...don't use cheap snap pliers...they break. Also, removing the little housing helped tremendously.
Also, I haven't tried it, but I read that you can use those 45* bend needle nose pliers to do it as well. |
Well its not a stupid design.. i got frustrated.
But regardless im just gonna go buy the right tools. Thanks for the help. |
Even with snapring pliers, it is a real bitch to do it without damaging the BOV, or scratching the pipe. IT really is somewhat of a poor design IMO. IF you want to use a snap ring, fine, but don't locate the bastard directly under the body of the BOV, and also don't use one that you have to apply 100ft-lb of torque to in order to release.
I raised hell while swapping the one thats on my car. THe trick is to remove ALL those 11ty billion little allen head bolts from the BOV cover. |
hey kevin .. on a side note what exhaust is on your car? 3" greddy evo ?
|
I think I'm gonna have to put that info in my signature just to keep the questions down. I did a 3 page writeup about the build of the car a month ago but people still ask almost every day.
Greddy power extreme dual. No longer available new, I believe. |
