where did you pick that spoiler up?

RX7 allnight 08-28-08 01:36 AM

nader 3M auto tape is A+++ its the only thing holding down my whale tail on the black gsl-se with 100 mph+ cruise's its all good. i dont think i could rip it off if i wanted that tape is pretty crazy.

red_s5_fc3s 08-28-08 01:34 PM

It'll be okay. Just make sure the surfaces are really, really clean; as mentioned before.

Hypertek 08-28-08 03:21 PM

yah 3m tape rocks. i put a roof spoiler on my old 240sx with a clean application of tape, that sucker wont come off, even thru car washing or outside weather its no worry, and the spoiler only tapes onto the rear windshield.

dont want to drill holes to burn bridges in case u dont like it later or someone trys to steal it, better it comes off instead of them prying the hell out of it and damaging ur hatch

DRFTMSTR 08-28-08 03:43 PM

where can i get one of these ive been looking all over the place and no luck. thanks!

blackedoutFC3S 08-28-08 03:47 PM

japan, thats the only place ive seen them, and its not cheap to ship them

red_s5_fc3s 08-28-08 08:08 PM

From Foresight Japan they cost about $300 to $400 each, then add about another $100 or less for shipping.

blackedoutFC3S 08-28-08 08:30 PM

really a hundred dollars or less? my coilovers are costin me 300 to get here

red_s5_fc3s 08-28-08 08:43 PM

That's because coilovers are heavier and require a bigger box.

I don't even KNOW how many times I've said it now:

SHINE AUTO PROJECT MAKES A REPLICA FOR MUCH LESS!!!

Patrick@RHDJapan 08-30-08 04:01 AM

Origin has a similar item for the FD3S and they recommend in conjunction with high grade double sided tape the use of caulking as well.

BumpholydeadthreadiknowOMGgetitoutofyoursystem.

I've been reading over this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...t=aero+package (in preparation for buying a possibly complete Aero package :D:icon_tup: ) and from what I can understand about this flow diagram: http://pengaru.com/~swivel/cars/rx-7...wSheet-med.jpg Wouldn't the visor/spoiler have a fairly noticable effect as far as "spoiling" goes? Still trying to make sense of what I see so please excuse my ignorance.

red_s5_fc3s 09-05-08 02:39 AM

I have the Shine one on my FC. I took off the rear S5 spoiler and noticed a change at high speeds. With the roof spoiler, I noticed no difference. I think it's more for looks.

Did you have to trim it at the bottom??

We put Naders on the other day, and when the hatch opens it rubs. Yet we mounted as far down as possible on the hatch (the bottom edge of the spoiler was resting right at the rubber trim of the hatch).

I know it's supposed to be for looks, but again, it looks like it would have a direct affect on the airflow over the car....

Icemark? Aaron? Any input?
