Installing engine -- help

Anyone have any tips, tricks, ideas on getting the engine to meet the transmission?

I have the transmission jacked up all the way and have angled the engine to corespond to the angle and can get the top bolt to align and go about half way in. It just won't go from there.

Any help appreciated.

I have yet to do this, I still haven't gotten mine out yet, but in my research I came across a couple of posts that said it's easier to leave the transmission where it belongs and wiggle the engine into place.

I think you have to wiggle the engine so the splines line up.

It took me about 5 hours...now I always pull the tranny on any motor I take out...it is so much easier to reattach the 4 driveshaft bolts.
