ignition question

a car im looking to buy has ignition problems... but it isnt speicific...

what would be the most common problem with ignitions?

its an 87 gxl

Man, thats a very vague question. It could be anything. You have no other info to give on whats wrong or anything?

well the only 2 problems that they told me it had were an ignition problem and a starter problem

im waiting for an email back from the to see if they can pin point the problem

i got an email back... she says that the ignition switch is shot and needs to be replaced...

so where can i pick one up, besides on a junk car

Well as long as they are right just the switch (second one). But would suck if its the assembly and you have to return, then buy the 1st one. I would be safe and go with the first one (as long as your not on a really tight budget), ya never know how car savy these people are.

i just realized something... after i replace the ignition... i wont be able to use that key with the doors or the hatch, right? so then what do i do? would i have to go out and buy new locks for the doors and the hatch? or just keep the original key around and use that as the door and hatch...
