When you switched some of the vacuum hoses around earlier to test something did you switch them back to how you had them originally?

yes i switch the vac hoses back. the idle doesn't always return to 800 rpm. sometimes it sticks at around 1200rpm but when it does it stays there for a while. i can get it to drop down again by putting a load on it. like turning on the lights when the radio is on. i don't know what thats all about. shes driving really good though.

Jumper the Initial Set Coupler and see what effect it has on the idle. If it doesn't make a difference then see how the idle behaves when the plug to the BAC is removed (don't apply load w/the plug disconnected at first if at all). Remember, you fudged with the Allen screw and may have damaged the unit. You also might want to adjust the Idle Adjust screw on top of the throttle body w/the coupler jumpered.

With a fully warmed up engine, how does the car idle with the BAC's elect connector off??? What rpm is what I mean. In fact, start the engine up with the BAC disconnected and see how it idles. What speed did it idle at????

Or try this technique. Idle the car. Say it idles close to 1200 rpm. Now you say if you put a load on the engine like you mentioned, well put that load on and from what I gather the idle will now drop down. Well, while it's idling low like that, go out there and pull the BAC elect plug off. Then restart the engine and see if the idle in still low or not. Looking for clues. I think Satch is right and it's a sticking BAC valve occasionaly (sp?).

with the car fully warmed up idleing at about 800rpm unplugged the BAC and there was no change. i left it unplugged turned it off and started it again. it went right back to about 800rpm. the only difference i noticed was when i started it, it didn't rev up passed about 1100rpm before dropping back to 800rpm when the BAC was unplugged. when it is plugged in it revved up to about 2200rpm or so before dropping to about 800rpm

The BAC is one of the items used in the 3000 rpm rev startup system. Since you had the BAC disconnected it would prevent the system from operating properly. That you turned the car off with the BAC unplugged and then started the car and it stayed at the same rpm as before the car was turned off "suggests" the BAC is contributing to your problem.

Remove the BAC and spray carb cleaner into it. Do NOT pry the innards with a screwdriver or anyother thing.

You might spray carb cleaner into it and then with it connected to the harness........turn the key to ON. There's a chance it'll go into its duty cycle and vibrate. If it does spray and pour the cleaner out and spray again to help clean it out. Reinstall the bac and reconnect its elect plug and see if that helped or not.
