I checked my compression today...

110 PSI front rotor
109 PSI rear rotor

Are these numbers OK for a s5 turbo block?
What's spec? I have NO idea. :)

Also, the person on the inside of the car forgot to hold the throttle at WOT, would that throw things off?

Bebesito21 04-29-03 12:07 AM

120 is new from stock. Make sure the engine was warmed up properly before hand. and the throttle has to be at WOT.

hypntyz7 04-29-03 01:50 AM

The test will only be totally accurate if perofrmed on a warmed up engine, and with the throttle at WOT.

New spec is about 120-125.
VGC is 110-120
Good is 100-110
Getting weak is 90-100
Poor condition is under 90.

at 1 mile high subtract about 20 psi from all of those numbers.
Damn, I wish I lived at sea level :(

Terrh 04-29-03 10:49 AM

so my engine is fine then? Good.

What's up with the dubs on the pickup? Please tell me you didn't spend money on those. :)

dont mess with him about those rims... he loves em. Kevin is a pro blinger...

Cwaters 04-29-03 02:15 PM

Don't forget that the compression difference between the two rotors (and also between faces??) has a spec.
Cold medicine has me all messed up and I can't rmember what the allowable difference is...

rotary>piston 04-29-03 04:10 PM

I think it's 21 psi, or something

I wondered too. I mean, I could see if it was lowered, and 2WD, but with the 4WD off-road package?
