How will the RX8 shift knob look on a FC ??

I think it would look good as long as you could find one just like that with rx-7 written in it :biggrin: . Personal opinion.

Yeah, my shift knob and boot were in very bad shape. So I got a new boot from redline goods, and an RX-8 knob from ebay. When I got the knob, I just ripped out the shift pattern.

i like my s4 shift knob

i like my stock s5 shift knob too, but its starting to rip...so i figure to change it to sumthing different and more "rotor-ry" :worship:

Im tryna find one now. i won one on ebay but when i tried to pay the guy said he didnt have anymore so now im outta luck. I got a whole black/brushed aluminum design ready for my car and this shift knob just tops it off.

There was a group buy a while back on European 5 speed leather illuminated rx8 shift knobs. Looked real nice but the price was too high. I think it was close to $180-$200.

I think the rex-eight logo wouldn't bother me that muchos grandes...
But the knob on rx7.com has a regular shiftpattern, I think it's the best solution if the figure 8 bothers someone...

lol the "problem " with the stock shift knob, is it is longer than my short shifter. I got the razo knob that is jsut a polished ball of aluminum with the shift pattern etched in.

Iv have had an Rx8 knob in my FC for about a year now... In my opinion its the perfect knob for the FC, well, at least it match's well in mine (black interior)

I dont like the fact that it says 6 speed, but, im not going to butcher the knob to get rid of that.

I'm pretty sure the rx8 seats will not fit in the FC. Something about them being too wide. They fit in the FD though I think.

There's a version of the RX-8 knob with a 5 speed pattern on it, in europe they're offered with it. Some guys on the 3rd gen forum haven been putting them on their cars. With the amber illumination it looks quite nice.

yeah you can acually pick them up still pick them up at http://rx7.com/products/ but they are $99 brand new and they are direct screw on's to the FD shifter threads not the FC.

I'm pretty sure FD and the s5 shifter are the same.

I've gotten the rx8 knob for my FD for $40 shipped (almost brand new) off of rx8club.com member. It looks and feels great. I'm not sure it will match the interior of fc but it is a great knob.

But like stated by ilike2eatricers a bit too wide and perhaps a bit too tall, so it would look kinda weird. But the looks anyway is :rock: !!!

Search for a thread started by "herblenny" , he did a group buy on the european 5-speed pattern RX-8 knobs. I picked one up, its very nice. A bit pricey at ~$200 shipped just to get the 5-speed pattern, but its very nice and Im happy I bought it.

I'm also happy with mine, though I wish it sat a little bit lower :).

BTW: the rotor tip on the 5-speed one is chrome, not brushed aluminum and it lights up completely red from under the shift pattern, not amber ;).

I think the nicest knob for the FC is the leather Mazdaspeed piece. Dimpled on the back. You can't see it in the picture but the word Mazdaspeed is embossed into the leather vertically on the front. It's a nice simple design, very Miataish but not so dainty. It's a direct screw on (at least on my S5 it was) and is weighted.

hhmmmm....i was wondering where can i get shift boots that look like that...i dun realli like tha stock hard leather one....i like soft leather ones like the ones on the rx8

well that fuggin' sucks... I guess I minght have to customize.

I have a neon, well more neon wire, leather rapped knob by optix.. its a great fit and sits almost and 1 1/4" lower. I like it alot better than the stock one... btw anyone want a stock shift knob?

I have a mazdatrix short shifter and my stock s4 shiftknob won't fit.

Did you order the 84-88 shifter or the 89-92? I'm getting one for my '88, just curious if my knob will fit correctly also.

i had an '8 shift knob on my old fc, payed 40 shipped for it off ebay, it was rather large and stuck up way to high
