how to remove a broken spark plug?
 

i just picked me up a 90 gtu and the only thing wrong with it and preventing me from driving it home is that the previouse owner broke a spark plug. lower spark plug front housing.

the spark plug is broken in half i guess you could say the threaded part of the bottom is still stuck in the housing and its pretty much flush so u cant get anything around it.

how the heck can i get this thing out so i can get a new plug in and just drive her home

this is gonna suck big ones after reading that it didnt give me any hope

if its not possible to remove then would it be possible to drive home say 200 miles with only 3 spark plugs? i tried it but i coulndt get it to keep idling

I'd think you'd be able to use one of those bolt out bits, or something similar.

The plug "broke off" probably because the threaded part of the plug is basically frozen in the housing by many years of neglect or improper installation of the plug. Because of this, it will be difficult to remove the remaining parts of the plug unless you find someone experienced in this kind of problem. This is not an unusual problem, by the way, so there are mechanics out there who can resolve this issue, and they don't have to be a rotary engine specialist to do so.

You may end up with commissioning a mechanic to drill it out and install an insert. Fairly straightforward and not uncommon procedure, but not something to be undertaken by most non-mechanics.

what size of an extractor would u say i needed? and hows about a old bolt and some good ole jb weld to bond the 2 together

Unless the threads are almost loose in there I seriously doubt JB Weld would hold up to do that. Whatever extractor you use, probably about a 1/4" wide tip, maybe 3/8", but it also depends on the type you use.

im gonna pick up some ez outs and penetrator tonight and hope it works in the morning if not ill trailer it home i guess. its still a freaking awsome buy even if i have to pull the whole motor apart to gte at this plug.

It happens, but it should rarely (probably never) happen if you use the plugs and appropriate tools correctly.
