Hmm Fake?

Tell me what you guys think.. Is this kit legit? Or no? Seems a little cheap but maybe someone has experience with them?

its a universal kit, typical generic/knock off parts.. no real engine management and questionable quality, and dont forget no car specific exhaust manifold, so you would spend more then that kit just to get it right.

But someone has to be a guinea pig and try it. I cant make any judgment without trying it first hand.

Also not to forget, our cars need attention/homework done in the fuel delivery department as well.

Junk!

I'd try it. Someone's gotta try. But to bad I already pieced my own kit.

My view on a similar kit:

Like said above that kit is still missing to many things & of course the the quality of the materials used is not the best of choices. I have seen some of these ebay turbo kits make decent power for the Honda guys, but they had constant issues with items failing in short periods of time. Mainly the manifilds & wastegates were the problems. You can piece together a good kit fairly cheap by looking for people selling certain things when they upgrade or just need to get rid of things. Takes a little time, but it can be done.

Mutaku 03-30-10 09:48 PM

Usually full kits like that will work initially but as said things like the wastegate will fail prematurely. Best bet if you want to use an "ebay kit" is to take some time and search for specific parts and build it yourself. Some really good items come up at ebay from time to time for dirt cheap.

lol this is hella funny they put to gether every piece of crap they sell on ebay and called it a rebuild! hahaha so funny, and whats with the intercooler with fans lol and they couldn't even put it on a piece of cloth they just put it on the ground lol that tells you how cheap it is they don't give a fuk if it gets scratched...

if you want a turbo kit here is some for the TII but you still need an intercooler, stand alone for starters....

That exact kit is sitting in the corner of my shop right now. A friend of a friend is using parts of it on his FD.

I agree with the statement that they just took a bunch of cheap China knockoff stuff normally sold on eBay and threw it together. I was shocked when I saw all that was included. Much of it is junk; the voltage stabilizer, tach, oil cooler, wastegate, gauges, etc. But some of it is usable

The intercooler, piping, clamps and other "hard" parts are perfectly fine and it is hard to beat the price.

The turbo itself is laughable. It is not a "GT45" as listed because none of the measurements add up. It is some monster T6 based China knockoff that is MASSIVE. WAY too big for any side port rotary. It would be at home on a peripheral ported 13B. The quality seems OK though.

true Aaron, but you could also save a lot of money by just buying one of the intercooler kits off Ebay that don't come with a bunch of junk, you could buy a CXracing piping kit, some extra couplers, and a hack saw, then piece together your own kit, and that Godspeed intercooler kit for the FC doesn't look to bad, I know people that have used Godspeed and CX intercoolers on their cars and they aren’t too bad considering the price, the pressure drop wasn't bad, and it cooled the charged air considerably well. I think there quite good for street cars.

Reguarding turbos, you can get a nice 270/360 bearing 60-1 trubo for $800-$900 and it will last a lot longer than an Ebay unit(better resell). http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=TBN
