hks external wastegate

ok well i just got an external wastegate on my car and i was wondering how do you adjust them.its an hks standard 40mm wastegate and its got a nipple on top and one off the side and my question was if you run vacuum line to them from a boost controller or if its the type that you have to put a spring in it and if so what are the nipples for?

thanks,
frankie

The HKS Standard Wastegate is designed for applications producing upwards of 500HP. A machined 40mm stainless steel valve is utilized to regulate boost pressure. HKS Standard Wastegates are available in five different base boost levels ranging from 0.4kg/cm2 (5.7PSI) - 1.4kg/cm2 (20PSI).

i had this same problem when trying to use a manual controler.
leave to top nipple vented to air
the side nipple feeds to vacume and to your boost controler.

thanks....and the other vacuum line from the boost controller where does that go?

Actually, that's not correct.
This is especially true for EBC's.

Are you running a full turbo upgrade?
Or are you trying to slap this on a stock turbo set-up?

what manifold are you useing?

i bought it from some guy and its a custom manifold with a t4 flange on it.but i made the mistake by buying a turbo with a t3 flange and had to get an adapter for it.

Like this....
W/G is off an audi....and it was loud as FAWK!!

IIRC the correct way is top nipple to boost controller, side nipple to vac then boost controller

That's easy, you cut a hole and weld a flange.
