High Fuel Consumption

Hi Guys,

What sought of mileage are you getting in your FC on a full tank of fuel, with normal street driving? I can barely hit the 200km mark? And the engine is stock with only a microtech, that's all. But my first gen rx7 with the full works(480bhp) gives me about 250+km mileage on a full tank. Their fuel tank size is almost the same. Is it because the FC is a whole lot heavier, thus giving it this disadvantage? Anyway, my FC is the cabriolet kind(FC3C). Pls advise.

Best Regards,
Francis

Most US spec FCs in reasonably stock form, get around 15-20 MPG average.

Tank size will vary based on what series.

I get around 300 Miles to the tank. Which is much more than 200km. There are a lot of things that affect mileage: Fuel filter, air filter, tire inflation, driving style, etc.

I'd recommend a full tune up:
Plugs
Wires
O2 Sensor
Fuel Filter
Get your fuel injectors professionally cleaned

This helped me get my 88 TII from almost getting 200km a tank to 350km+ a tank(50 liters on a 60liter tank). I have a streetport and lots of other goodies too...

Ditto. I'll bet all that stuff is still the original equipment issued with the car. If that doesn't help, then you have a real problem(or tuning issues).
