87 is power, 30 is your signal current, 85 and 86 are the connections that get energized when the relay gets it's signal.

i believe you have that backwards.. 85 & 86 go to the coil of the relay. this is what opens and closes the connection. so one of these will go to 12v (ignition on possibly). the other will go to your control source(ecu). when the ecu wants the fuel pump on it connects the other point to ground, completing the circuit. when this happens 87 and 30 will be connected together. so 87 or 30 will also have 12v and be powered by a wire large enough to carry the current needed for the fuel pump. then the other connection will go to the fuel pump.

Schematics are easy to decipher given the codes...

Give me a few minutes and ill tell you exactly what wire goes on what number.. and where to hook it up..

85 and 86 are switched little +12v (only on when key is on) and ground, 87 is big +12v from battery and 30 is big +12v to + on fuel pump.

on 85 and 86, it doesn't matter which is which - and I guess it really doesn't matter on 30 and 87 either.

The guy from New Zealand, who has a convertible, posted the jpg that is attached. Eighty five and eighty six are the wire to the coil. The other two are the input/output.
