help me please!!!!!!

sorry but im a noob. and i honestly dont have much time to search around

but i just bout an 87 turbo 2 with 52,000 on the engine and the transmission about a week or two ago.

and today i wanted to test it out so i went out to a parking lot and was drifting with a friend. after about 5 minutes my car just all of a sudden stopped and died. and then smoke begain to come up out from under the driver side dash.
its smoked for about a minute or two after i turned ther car off and got out. i waited about 20 minutes and tried starting it again. the car begain to try and start up but its just wont turn over. and i kept trying but nothing.
so i dont know if i blew a seal or what?????

and i had just changed my coolant before we went out and the temp gauge didnt indicate that it was overheating at all.

WTF.

doesn't sound like you blew a seal? but never know. I would do a compression check just to verify.

But smoking from under the driver dash? its only electrical there. Get under and verify if any wiring might of melted.

yea what you said reminds me of a time i was drifting my TII.... well more like swinging it. The constant on and off the throttle opening and closing the secondaries might cause it to flood.

Sounds like the driving may have made an existing problem worse. Tell us anything else that isn't working now. Let's see if you have spark and fuel...Pull a spark plug wire at the spark plug, and place it near one of the shock tower nuts (under the rubber cover). Crank the engine over. Do you have spark? Next, go near the intake box and find a yellow plug with nothing plugged into it. It has a black rubber around it. Turn ignition on, and then jumper the two pins on the plug with a piece of wire (paper clip?). Do you hear the fuel pump whining, and fuel moving in the lines at the engine?

P.S. Some honest advice to getting the most out of the forum. You're only a noob for as long as you want. I don't judge people on post count. Some people know a lot more **** or less in some cases, than their post count implies. Also, if you're willing for someone to spend 10 minutes helping you, it's only fair to spend time searching. Good luck.

Im still kinda new to the 7club so im not really sure how this side works

but on the 8club, hmm, I seen so many of these "omg I just got this new 8 then I was drifting/ doing donuts at the parking lot then all of sudden the car dies what to do now"

All I can say is rofl, too much 2f2f ?

racing/drifting even DONUTS put a lot of stress on the whole car, if you just got your car, especially a used car, spend some time with it first, find out its "true" condition, before doing stupid stuff on it.

I push my 8 really hard everyday without any problems, cuz I spent shitloads of time with it, so "I know" how far I can push it before I break it.

got my FC like a month something 2 ago, but I didnt drive it much then about a week later I got it, I put it on jackstand, why? cuz I know that no matter how good the previous owners were, any 10+ year old car will have A LOT of old stuff and needs replacing ASAP. and I hate being my car dying on the road, so I wont drive it until Im comfortable with it. guess what, I replaced all shocks with stance coilovers, Rb sways, DTSS eliminator, rotors, pads, rebuild all calipers, all new front brake pipes, new SS brake lines, rebuild Brake Master and clutch master. soon Im going to replace the whole water pump(its already here, huge thing), Rebuild A/C, radiator, all water hose, put emission back on (I hate straight pipe's exhaust smell), and lots to do.

so yeah, you have a lot to learn kid.

P.S. : Power Sliding is not the same as driftiing.

why would you go out "drifting" in a 22 yr old car with out knowing something more about it???

things are bound to go wrong....

i would just tell you to get rid of it for being a big *** NOOB,

but as pfsantos said, "You're only a noob for as long as you want. "

if you serious bout fixing your car, do more research, and less drifting.

makre sure your car can handle it.

but if your just gonna take our advice and not do anything, dont waste our time...

check your fuse box in the engine bay, and under the dash, also does the car have an aftermarket stereo??

i doubt its anything coolant related (but i could be wrong). look up the procedure on how to deflood the motor.

also try to pull the codes from the idiot cluster to see if the ecu says anything.

I am betting someone swapped in a J-spec motor (they always claim like 50k with no way to prove the miles ect..)

They probably like everone else who puts in a j-spec, hacked up the wiring..

Or

ýour car overheated because you didn't bleed the system right, and you fried the motor, blew the heater core, and the smoke was actually entering the car from the shifter area and exiting out the dash..

Or

You fail at life.

Pop the hood and look for melted wiring, especially if this car had an engine swap.

Years ago I was driving along normally when I started to get smoke coming in from the passenger side footwell area inside the cockpit. I immediately stopped and popped the hood to see my front harness starting to go up in smoke! I had previously removed all emissions from the vehicle, and it turned out the elctrical tape came off some wires I had clipped, which arced and started melting wires in the harness. I was able to disconnect the battery and use some black tape to wrap up the wires so I could drive the car home. I still bet I'm one of the only people to honestly fix their broke down car with tape on the side of the road

Its just sad that another great car just got trash by a smarty.

yes i am 18.
and i do agree. power sliding and drifting are two different things. thanks for the reminder.
some people dont have the money to do all those things to there car before they can drive it. people also dont always have the money for new or 2nd cars either.
im one of those people. good for you though.
bought the car from a friend. have drivin it before.
i may be a noob. but learning about the rotary engine cant just happen in a week. i bought it to learn about the engine and how it works.
it dose have a swap with 50k. j-spec? i didnt ask.
i dont know what the smoke smelled like. i got out of the car as soon as i saw it.
i looked through ever inch of the car that i could see. and i could spot nothing.

yea i shouldnt have been drifing either though, your right. but hey sh*t happends.

it has nothing to do with a noob or not. if you had any common sense you SHOULD know that regardless of what your friend told u or how great it was at test drive. you should NOT do anything to a what 20~ something yr old car. You dont even know it much yet.

another thing is if u dont have money, dont even buy a car. especially an OLD car. a car is NOT an investment, its an expense, if u dont have the dough it will suck u up dry in no time. what you should've got is a more recent car like hmm, as much as we pick on Civics here, get a Civic instead. year 95 or so, should be cheap enough for average teen to get it, cost couple grand.

what u should do now is to sell your car, 90% chance u blew your engine up already. Good luck on selling it.
