Help Me Now Im In Need

The other day i was installing an alternator on my 1988 rx7 n/a vert when i accidentally broke the water temperature sensor. I noticed that it started up fine. But when i went to start it up the next day it was incredibaly hesitant.I ordered a new sensor as well as a themostat and installed But when i went to start it up for the first time after all the installations were comeplete it still did it. I shall explain exactly what it does. IT will crank over a few times then feel as if it going to start and then quickly shuts off. If i try to give it gas it is also hesitant and wont hold rpms under 4000 rpm. Only after a long while will it decide to stay on.... Please help me!!! please Also if the engine is still warm it doesnt have any type of problem turning on.. Really easy... before this i was having no problems started up like a glove... it has about 10,000 miles on after the rebuild.

Sure you didn't knock anything else loose during the install?

Yea sounds like your grounds suck balls. Check all the ground connections on the car and make sure that they are clean and secure. Make sure that the connector to the back of the alternator is nice and clean as well as the cables, etc.

I've been through this too, though the symptoms weren't quite as harsh as yours. Mine would always start, it just took twice as long cranking her than normal. So you installed a new sensor? Check the connector closely, and read out the input from the ECU, key on, to verify the signal is getting there. Should also be throwing a code, if you happen to have the LED check lights installed...Compare the input to FSM specs, per temp at the time...
