Unhappy help!! engine problem

I went to the store and shut off my RX-7 and came back and started it up and the engine shook real bad; I can rev it up but when I let go of the accelerator it won't idle. It shakes worse and dies. I tried to drive it but I have to floor the accelerator to get it to go anywhere. It was fine when I shut it off. What happened? Can some one help me, please?

Have you lifted the hood and checked for anything that might have become disconnected?

We need some more details.....

Check vacuum hoses, electrical connections, plug wires, etc..

Any mods on the car? Ran like a top on the way to the store and when you shut it off? Check Engine light come on at all when it was running shitty?

Any smoke coming out of the tail pipe? When you shut it off was it fully warmed and idling in the warm position?

my rx-7

I went to two places before I went to the store. All I did was pull in and let the car idle down which I always do then I shut it off, ran in got what I needed then came back got in and started it. The oil pressure and temperature gages were fine. No engine lights came on. I can start it and rev it up but when I ease off the accelerator it putters (back fires?) out of the tail pipe. and when it gets below 1000 RPMs the engine extremely shakes, won't idle, like I said just to move it I had to floor it and once I got going past 5 mph it would drive fine until I slowed down, then I repeat it all over again. I have no modifications.

I've talked to a couple of people and they've suggested either coil packs or pressure boost sensor. What do you think?

Pull the plugs and see their condition to tell if you are firing both rotors.

I think you dropped an apex seal.

I hear this all the time. If you have a galloping idle pull your trailing plugs and the EGI fuse, turn it over again, if you hear a galloping hissing noise, instead of a constan pulsing hissing noise, you have a blown motor.

Let me know the results of this check.

What do you mean by trailing plugs?

I thought I saw blue smoke come out of the tail pipe and behind the motor but I'll have to start it again to verify it

Is your car a n/a or turbo???? Trail plugs are the sparkplugs on top. Gotta admit the first thing I thought of was a apex seal also. They go without warning. But the part about how it ran after getting the speed up. That makes me think Really big air leak. On a n/a engine it could be the about one inch hose that connects to the bottom of the very large intake duct. This one inch approx hose runs from a plastic union on the bottom of the large intake duct and goes to a metal pipe that runs around the back of the engine. Coulda decided to finally fall off, hoefully.
