Help
Ok..... Dont make fun of me too much. I am a girl and I really need some help. I have an 89 gtu. i have a full racing beat exhuast from the header back that i just recently put on. I have the option of buying a blown 88 TT motor for 200 and i was wondering how difficult it would be to change out my motor for that one once it is rebuilt. i really have no idea what would be needed. I would really appreciate some input. I also have a bunch of 87 and 89 gtu parts off of my other rx-7s that i will be posting soon. I know i have an extra set of 89 tail lights if anyone is intrested. I will figure out what all I have when i finish moving.
Thanks
Thanks
i also own an 89 gtu
its not too hard to do a swap, youll need ecu, motor, wiring harness. does the motor come with all necessairy manifolds?
you wont be able to use your racing beat exhaust on the turbo...but if its the road race true duals, you could sell it to me

yeah it is straight out of another car. I have to take it out. I was wondering is it that big of a diff bw the 88 and 89 swaping the motor. my bf has a spare motor out of his fd i was also thinking of putting that in instead. just looking at options.

if you read up there are a few differences between the 88(s4) and 89(s5) motors, but swapping them out is nooo problem. as far as putting in an FD motor, its a bit trickier to make that work, you will also need an ecu for that.

All this information is in the FAQ. Multiple links and lots of information cover the NA to TII swap.
There is a huge difference between '88 and '89. It's a major pain in the butt to do cross-series swaps unless you just swap the block over and use all the electronics/sensors that came with the car you are swapping into.
