Heater isn't working....

Ok my heater isn't working. I mean it blows air but its cold... No heat. Am I expecting to have to replace the heater core, because its about to be extra cold this year in Oregon, and I'm not trying to get sick again.... So could ya'll tell me whats good with this issue.

Air mix motor may be bad. If you say that it still blows air.

Whats an air mix motor?

So that is the reason why its not blowing hot air?

Jpk3200 11-20-07 02:19 PM

It seems like the flapper door is not working and allowing warm air in. I would say that either the air mix motor is bad or the logicon control of the air mix motor is bad. I haven't had the problem myself. Maybe someone else has run into this problem.

Alright koo I'm going to look into my Repair manual and take a look at it.... Thank you.... I just wanted to see if others and the issue and see if they had to replace anything.... Thank you

My buddy had this problem in his 87. He just rigged a coat hanger to the flapper that lets heat in. Anytime he wanted heat he would just pull the hanger or push to close for cold air.

I wanna say its your logicon. The hot and cold leaver can brake. If you search you can find write-ups about common problems with this system.

So if I can get another one... Which I know I can, could this possibly fix the problem?

Qhasan31 11-20-07 11:58 PM

Another logicon...........

Icemark used to refurbish logicons, i'm not sure if he still does, all i know is i've heard nothing but good things about his work with electrical part repairs

Do a little research and you could find out whats wrong with yours. I've read about the logicons and they have a few problems. My TII does nothing. I'll have to dive into it soon enough. :sadwavey:

You may end up replacing it with another one that could have problems. I think you have to soder some connections.
