the HID bulbs and ballast look good, im not sure about the headlight housings though.

Get these , slim kit will be better to mount

Then get some Hella, Cibie, Autopal headlight housings.

Expect other boring forum members to flame you and tell you blahblah how this is dangerous though.

Hypertek is right, if you plan to go that route, don't cheap out on the housings. Get good quality housings that have good cutoff. As far as an HID kit, DDMTuning is fantastic and I've also had great experience with VVME.com. Of course the proper way is a full projector retrofit but it is alot of work.

Boring forum member checking in.

These HID kits do not have light cutoffs so you'll be blinding all oncoming traffic and are illegal in at least California, likely all other states as well. If I ever got into a car accident with a car due to them blinding me with this headlight setup, you bet that I'd file a lawsuit to pay for every cent of damage on my beater car.

Soooo.. The end-all is what?

What kit is the end-all?

There is no kit currently. You will have to use PROPER HID projectors (get some from a car that used HID's from factory, or buy new) retrofitted into a 6054 housing (I.E. cut hole into current 6054 housing, stick HID projector into housing) with an HID ballast kit (the $40 kits you see).

In my opinion, these wanna be $40.00 "HID kits" look like crap in non HID projectors housings. They have glare like hell when looking at the car from outside, the whole freaken housing is lit up like hell, you can clearly tell who has them. Compare that to a properly fitted HID ballast and projector, looks very elegant.

Spend the money on a set of Hella 6054 housings which use an H3 bulb. Call it a day. They look nice and the light is nice and everyone is happy and you don't have to worry about glare or getting pulled over.

Theres also a Do-It-Yourself tutorial on retrofitting Acura TSX projector lenses into the back of the 6054 housings.

A few months back I remember seeing a vendor on this forum with a group buy interest thread for proper projector light kits with an estimated cost of $600.

You want these.

If you're going to get cheap reflector housings, stick with halogens and be warned, they probably won't work as well as OEM. I got some of the 'diamond cut' housings from ebay (possibly the same ones) and went back to OEM after a couple weeks because I couldn't see for shit.

Edit: also, as TheAbsence mentioned, if you get in a wreck at night with illegal headlights, you will be at fault for everything regardless of how the accident happened.

Erf. Will chew it aroubd, for a bit.... Really am lookin for something brighter than my damned Unibrow crap.

Putting hid's in a h4 housing doesn't result in poor light output it causes glare to oncoming drivers and that glare will still be there whether the lights are aimed down or not.
