Having problems, need help

Okay guys, I wouldn't bother asking, except I want to see if anyone else comes up with the same answer I'm thinking (I'm hoping I'm wrong, but something tells me I'm not).

The car stalled out on me as soon as I hit the clutch to get ready to stop. So I stop, and start it back up, it starts up, although the revs stayed a bit low, step on the gas, and watch the revs drop for the floor again. So I start it back up, and try again, same result. Third try, I manage to get the car moving again by edging my way into the gas. It took me nearly thirty seconds to get the car up to around 3K rpms. If I tried to get it to go up any faster, it started to stall on me again. Car had nearly no power. The rest of the way home I could only get it to go above 3800rpm maybe twice. It doesn't seem like the typical 3800 hesitation, as it didn't clear up much above there. Any ideas appreciated.

Sounds like a compression check is in order before anything else.

Okay I take that back, first before the compression check is a J O B.

whatever the problem is .. one way or another you are going to need tools, and chances are money will come into play also.

Can't help the helpless.

You got the 3 grand it would take to pay off the car? And then the 2 grand or so that it's probably gonna need to replace the motor?

Didn't think so

PS: The clutch needs replaced too.

Hey - it's an 89.
You should be getting a check engine light.
Ground the initial set connector & read the codes.

It sounds like you are in "limp home" mode.
