hard start and leaking coolent !

=( ... i havnt drove my car for a couple of days since it was hard to start .... then today i came home from work decided to give it a try... it started but... then i see white smoke coming from where my turbo was smelled like coolent ..turned it off and spotted two puddle of coolent between the block and the lim ..took off the uim and looked around but cant find any leak ...could it be my block that is leaking? ..i hope to god no...but this sucks ....cause this was a rebuild from akins rotary with stage two street port...i only put about 3500 miles on it anyone have any ideas.? well

i took a closer look it tooks like its coming from the lower intake manifold where it connects to the block ......but im not sure its pretty dark outside and i only have a flash light lol .... is there sappose to be coolent there.? ..damn and if its really coming from there that means i have to remove the turbo then get to it ... aww man this sux ....

I had this same problem.I thought the worst but it's a easy fix and better than a water seal leak in the engine.good luck man.

It's probably the coolant orings between the block and lower intake manifold. Take off your lower intake manifold and inspect. IF you have to replace orings then isntall a new LIM gasket and factory orings. Use a tiny small amount of (gasket sealer I use honda bond) to make the orings stick to the block. Then install LIM gasket then LIM and whala:sadwavey:

Just make sure you get factory LIM orings(pref from a mazda dealer).

While your at it you could get hi temp paint and paint everything(LIM,` UIM, clean small parts).

You don't have to remove the turbo to get at the LIM!

Also buy new cooper orings for the OMP injectors.

If you want to replace the injector orings now would be the time.

Also replacing the small hose's(coolant and vac)` would also be good. Use zip ties on these.

I bought some inexpensive ebay heat wrap for my downpipe. I also sprayed it with some sealant.

Replace the pulsation dampner IF you have an s4.
