Man, the other day I spilt super hot coffee on my leg and almost made me crash my car, i'm about to get a hole saw and start drilling right into the top of my dash and but some bass ports in there for a sub box. But first I think i will fix the tranny I blew up last night :\

I'm in the process of developing a cupholder system that should work pretty good with very little fuss. We should be developing them with hIGGItrix for sale for everyone else.
I'd like to keep it away from the center console, as it gets in the way of shifter and there's delicate electronics all over the place. -Ted |
Originally posted by Mint87RX7 for that question about icemarks cupholders and tall cups getting in the way. they do not set on top of it, the thing that slides out has holes in it for the cups to drop into so it would be more in the way to have the cd player under the setup http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/attach...&postid=134787 http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/attach...&postid=134788 Tall cups usually fit fine, as the bases are pretty small. The only thing that does have problems is water bottles don't seem to fit the holes. a couple weeks ago: http://www.mazdamark.com/FCLOGICBb.JPG |
do u hit the cupholder when shifting to 3rd? seems like it might get in the way:confused:
|
Not a bad setup.. looks clean, too.
I was thinking about putting a cupholder behind the center console, in that extra space there... Might be annoying to have to reach back everytime you wanted some of your drink, but it'd be out of the way... |
^i was thinking the same thing.
the orange lights look pretty sick! i have an alpine unit too, is that hard to do? i would assume so. i also love the blue leds on the fan/ temp settings!! how did you do that? you are a crafty little bastard. |

it might be a little tight with a s5 shift knob then..

The fully rebuilt you just replace you existing one, the DIY ones (available in your choice of Red, Green, Blue, Violet indicator lights) comes with the LED lights mounted on the control board, new resistors based on color and brightness, and the control board rebuilt. It requires you to take apart your existing Logicon, swap the board, and put it back together. Here's the page to order from my website: http://www.mazdamark.com/toppage3.htm |
Originally posted by Russ it might be a little tight with a s5 shift knob then.. But still better than sticking a can between your legs while driving, or trying to use the arm rest as a cup holder |
I stick it in that place between the curve of the seat where it separates from the center console area, behind the seatbelt, and put my hand on it when i'm stopping. works fine, driven over 200 miles in one day doin that, can hold it with my elbow too.
But i just remembered I don't have stock seats I have Recaro seats oops. Do stock seats have the same gap I'm talking about? |
With the stock seats you can barely stick your hand in the gap.
|
On my vert, so far, I cram the cup in at an angle between the passenger seat, the back of the car, and the center console. Fits great.
Though I would reather have a 'real' cup holder :) |
you know, I think it would make sense to find a cup holder from another car, like a jeep grand cherokee or something, (we know those crash all the time) And mold it into the space behind the center console, because thats where I jam it anyway.
|
Looks good guy's. I was thinking of putting some guages there but I have given up on that Idea. This will give me something to go on....
