Gold rims?

Do ya'll think Gold rims would look good on a 10th aniv white FC? The rims are Konig Feather 17", 7 1/2" wide. A friend is selling them cheap and I cant pass up a good deal. Thanks

rx-711 03-10-08 03:25 PM

white and gold look real good

fc3s kit 03-10-08 03:37 PM

What's the offset on them?

I'm thinking that a 6 spoke would probably look the best.

Gold wheels would look sharp on black and white 7s

10thaniv 03-10-08 05:01 PM

The offset is 45, the tires are 215 45 17.

My friend is coming by this weekend to test fit the rims. They are 10 spoke. I hope they look good. If I get them I will get my stock rims repainted and new skins for them. I will get a pic and post it so you all can help me decide.

I dont think you should buy them... What car were they on before? Was it by any chanceFWD like a Civic or a mini cooper? That offset sounds very "front wheel drive only" to me. But then didnt the MR2 have +42 offset?

RockyZ 03-11-08 07:34 PM

stock offset is 40MM. 45MM offset for 7.5 wide rims will not fit without adapters. Unless you are running on coils then you might have a bit more inner clearance.

Here is a chart:

And this pic shows them right after the car wash. They sparkle in the sun!

no. Black is better for a white car.

The rims and tires are brand new, he is a rim whore with a honda.I will test fit them and check the inner clearance, if it is too close, I will not buy them. I'm still not sure I will like the color. We'll see. Thanks all

We test fitted the rims today and the +40 offset is too close to the strut. I will not be buying them. Here is a pic to show how it looked.

10thaniv 03-15-08 12:57 AM

I think I will just get the stock rims repainted and get some nice tires for them.

Gold almost looks good on any color

89alltrac 03-15-08 03:36 PM

Gold works really well on white, I'm planning on picking up a set of gold 17s for my white celica.

WOW, thank God you didn't buy those wheels. How ugly and the offset is for FWD cars. I agree with the guy who said keep the stock 10ae wheels. That is unless you actually spend some serious cash on nice wheels.
