Sounds horrible. Sounds exactly like the bad bearing in my alternator that I hear every day. Except mine doesn't pulse like that one does.

Why does everyone think that sounds nice?

jm93rx7 05-15-07 09:24 PM

i like it

Sideways7 05-15-07 09:27 PM

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH MY EARS!!!!!!
Seriously, that would drive me insane. There is something seriously wrong when the belt whine is louder than your damn engine.

RotaMan99 05-15-07 09:38 PM

To bad I can't record the sound my car makes. I have had a few people ask if I had a turbo . Do you think turbos whine at idle or 1000 rpm? Kids...

My5ABaby 05-16-07 06:58 AM

Why would ANYONE want that sound?

RotaMan99 05-16-07 08:07 AM

now I have a question, is it really the belt making that noise or is the alt bearings taking a dump since the down load from the tension of the belt is further out...

Wh1t3 C0m3t 05-16-07 11:24 AM

sounds terrible

rotaryperv 05-16-07 12:56 PM

kinda liked it for the first few seconds then i thought about it , that whine completely drowns out that 1 of a kind rotary sound . pruump pruump pruump pruump

FCKing1995 05-16-07 01:02 PM

jesus... why? cant you get a serpentine kit for less, and have it be tons more quiet. I dont see needing that much belt. Im sure its not nearly as loud with the hood down, but still... Im not paying that much for pulleys that arent needed. They look pretty cool though, Ill give them that much

Black91n/a 05-16-07 05:34 PM

Sure, that's cool... when you've got a huge blower on top of your V8. That's completely and utterly rediculous in this application.

classicauto 05-16-07 05:53 PM

what is this about? who gave the retarded cat singing lessons???

marcus219 05-16-07 06:20 PM

that pulley kit is about as queer as a football BAT...N thats pretty queer

-TAL- 05-16-07 07:40 PM

i was actually about to order one of these kits a while back for the functionality of it, i had no idea it sounded like that, good thing that i didn't.

fidelity101 05-16-07 08:12 PM

my friends supercharger whine gets annoying, I can't imagine how that gets..

CrackHeadMel 05-16-07 08:16 PM

to each there own, i personally like the sound. not convinced its necessary though. i could make my belts not slip for much less than the cost of that setup

cptpain 05-16-07 08:19 PM

i like to keep my working A/C and power steering so its not for me

RotaryBuddha 05-16-07 08:20 PM

http://www.xtremerotaries.com/ These guys sell the kit for a lot cheaper. And make damn good products. Personally I don't mind the sound. Hell with a complete exhaust (no cats) and the hood closed I bet you can hardly hear that thing. Maybe at constant highway speeds it might get annoying. But I'm still considering getting one. Not the ebay one.

jgrewe 05-16-07 08:33 PM

I remember a HotRod magazine article(probably 20 years ago) on the whine sound from blower belts on the 6-71's. The whistle is from the air getting trapped by the tooth/groove on the pulleys. You can quiet it down a bit by drilling a small hole in the middle of each valley of the pulleys.

Other than that looks like a solution to not much of a problem. Plenty of other cheaper and quieter ways to fix belt slippage.

That assumption would be wrong...

RotaryBuddha 05-17-07 06:44 AM

^ Do you have a video or sound clip with a full exhaust and the hood closed. Because I would like to hear the difference.

you people sound like a bunch of old people hahaha i would pay that much for that kit and im goin to for my fc the guy that makes them and that car are in new zealand its common over here and we fucking love them so daum staunch with that sound

yusoslo 05-17-07 07:53 AM

I would run it if I lost 5-10hp. Its sound amazing and sound is a big part of a driving experience. My car is just a weekend car so my opinion is different than the dail drivers out there.

I am getting one as soon as I finish tuning my big turbo!!!!!!

BTW can you still run the stock fan with this?

ilia 05-17-07 07:55 AM

I've heard it in real life. It sounds badass when it's on a badass car, not much otherwise.

yusoslo 05-17-07 02:05 PM

my motor is bad ass. nuff said! haha
