full bridge or half bridge

I'm looking at a T2 for a decent price with a full bridge port motor in it. just needs a few tid bits like a good EMS to get it running.

My question is:

Would this motor be okay for daily driving or would it be wise to build another motor with a half bridge port and have the FBP for a spare?

I would really like to make the FBP daily driver friendly so i will not have to spend too much money.

Suggestions and experiences anyone?

Full bridge is rediculous for daily driving, rough startup, crap for low range power. Personally I would just do a nice smooth street port. I prefer to hit the key and drive, not hit the key and tune.

the car comes with a FBP. is there a way to downgrade the motor although the housings are already lapped and ports honed?

you cannot downgrade once the bridgeport s done. You would have to get another motor that hasnt been ported

Go drive a bridgeport and then make your descision.

Yeah, Dont let anyone tell you their "opinion", as most of these guys haven't driven a FULL BP turbo. FYI, my car starts up immediately every morning. BUT...sometimes bp isnt for everyone. not everything is for everyone.

Both the full bridge and half bridge are fine for daily driving if you can stand the idle. We just had a LONG topic that covered this in depth:

how does it feel driving everyday? i'm mostly concerned about the power band output. i'd like to drive it daily but i dont want to race from light to light.

any more opinions?

Some argue that a half-bridge is protected by the secondary throttle plates, but really, in the end, you are going to need a new intake to take advantage of the BP anyway. So in that respect a half bridge is going to have the same idle low throttle issues that a full bridge will. So why not just go balls out and do it all the first time around instead of getting used to the power output then wanting more?

Speaking of which, what are the power differences between a fbp and hbp on a turbo car?
