fuel pump wiring question

so the previous owner before me had this e-fan hooked up through the one fuel pump relay behind the drivers head light and i gotta new fan and radiator so i didnt need that any more and i ripped out the relay because i didnt kno it was to my fuel pump. as of right now i cant find where the origanal wires are at all. so i was wondering is there any way to wire up my fuel pump so its on its own circuit or something

Anything is possible. Fuel pump runs on 12v so some people just run a wow straight from the battery through a relay that turns on w/ key to "on". Although I would concentrate on returning your car to stock, as it sounds like u don't know what youre doing.

What year car is yours? Turbo or non turbo?

boostkeepsmesane7 06-01-11 01:45 PM

87 turbo i just got the fuel pump running and was crankin it over it was spittin hella 2 cycle out the exhaust it started a couple times but then died its a rebuild motor with a street port never ran just started a couple times then dies

Probably flooded right now. New rebuild and all. I guess you don't have a fuel pump problem now.

If the car dies immediately after firing up you might want to jumper the fuel check connector and start the car once more and see if this changes things for the better.

i hard wired the fuel pump to the black/yellow ignition wire thats hooked up to where the key is u think jumpin the jumper the fuel check connector will that even matter. and i got a toggle switch in between so i can turn the fuel pump off to unflood it

The fuel pump resistor relay that was up front near the right hand headlight assy had a ROUND white plug on it. IF you find that plug just jumper any of the pure blue wires to any of the blue/red wires and all will be fine IF the circuit opening relay is not messed up. See jpg attached.

Round.............white in color.........six pins in it. Only jumper the wires I mentioned. The other wires matter not. Leave 'em alone and never gnd any of them.

With the pump hard wired, the jumper would be of no use.

will it be fine if its jumpered that way and do u think if theres to much 2 cycle in the motor thats why its not starting becuase it was just spitting it out and just like puddles chilling in my ehaust. because i might have poured to much 2 cycle in the intake.

HAILERS2 06-02-11 03:11 AM

I'm not sure why you poured two stoke in the intake. Tha't a bit different. Never seen that done before. The only reason I can imagine would have been to get the compression up so it would start.

boostkeepsmesane7 06-02-11 12:38 PM

ya thats wat my engine builder told me to do when i tryd startin it. and idk might have poured to much becuase i mean i got spark its on time it will start idle at like 400 maybe 500 rpm then i try to give it gas and it will die then a couple times i got it to bounce past 1000rpm and then i could give it gas and rev it up a to 2500rpm but then die out agin. im confused

so all of the pure blues to all of the blue/red wires? i am thinking of doing this but have not seen it mentioned as simple as this before....
