fuel filter sludge oil. 2 stroke?

Hey guys, I changed my fuel filter today, and a lot of oil came out of it. Do you think that could have been some of the 2 stroke additive being caught in it along with the dirty stuff? Or is it just dirty stuff in the fuel?

What are you adding to your fuel?

Well, I never ran 2 sroke, but the guy that owned it before had added valvoline 2 stroke oil in it before I believe. He had put the omp back on to sell the car.

The stuff in the dark blue bottle?
It's not supposed to react with gasoline.
I use it in my FC.

I beleive so. he told me he ran 2 stroke oil for a little bit, I believe it was valvoline.

When I unhooked the fuel line, fuel came out, then after a while, some oil came out of there. Im guessing the fuel filter is catching the 2 stroke oil?

interesting i all ways wondered if that would happen or if it could happen?? il have to pull mine off and see, im using Castrol GTX 2 cycle oil, but il pull mine off tomorrow and see if theres any oil stuck in there if so i guss we will have to buy snow machine fuel filters :D

Yeah, I remmeber someone posting a quesiton ,"what fuel filter to use with 2 stroke?"

2 stroke additive is the only thing I could think of. So I guess that means not all the 2 stroke additive is getting to the engine. Unless that oil is something else.

The oil didnt look black or anything. It looked clean, but I could totally tell that it was not gasoline

Wait, you've been adding regular (4 stroke) oil to your gas? :uhh:

I thought 2-stroke was supposed to become a homogeneous solution in fuel and not separate once dissolved? Can someone confirm this? I wonder if left mixed in a tank for long enough, if it settles to the bottom, causing what appears as stated.

If your fuel filter has sludge buildup I wonder what the sock on the fuel pump looks like.

you cant use regular oil in your fuel tank, it just wont mix.
you have to use 2 stroke oil if you adding oil to you gas.
so premix 2 stroke oil is the only way to go if adding oil to your gas.
i have only ran 20$ of gas in my new filter so i hope to see if there is any oil or not in my filter. il post tonight and let you guys know

if the sock is like a chev sock then id say it should be ok, cause it just stops big chunks its just a small screen, unlike the fuel filters they are paper filters if thats the correct terme to use

i read somewhere once that u could have like a resvorior full of 2 stroke oil and like a windsheild washer pump or something like that to shoot it into the oil metering nozzles???? but it defeintly bypassed the STOCK OMP
