nice.
i've seen manual ones for around $30 though.

kks_John 11-25-04 09:22 PM

yeah, overpriced but a great thing to have. nice for a dual exhaust setup with huge piping for your turbo to increase low-end response.

got to remember how hot our exhaust get... will that electric motor be able to withstand the heat? look into that first... some guys on here said theirs failed shortly from the heat burning up the elec motor

jreynish 11-25-04 10:21 PM

man that is almost exactly what I need for my custom twin series turbocharger system!

LizardFC 11-26-04 12:22 AM

That + TurboII during hard driving = Molten metal

Interesting concept though, a lot better than stuffing a "silencer" in the back of your muffler.

BlaCkPlaGUE 11-26-04 12:31 AM

So where does it got? mid pipe? down pipe? or on the end of the muffler?

I don't get it, if you block off all flow won't the car stall?

eh.. explain please ;)

You build a Y into your exhaust system, mount this on one side of the Y and the other goes to your usual muffler so you can be somewhat legal. You open it and the exhaust bails through this and a small amount through the regular exhaust. A friend of mine has one of the quick time performance ones that is adjustable on how much it opens or closes, it's a trick piece but I'm not sure how long it'd last with the heat either.

Oh, and the quick time ones are way cheaper than that. http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/ They come in varying sizes and with a Y already so all you have to do is weld it in.

GUITARJUNKIE28 11-26-04 12:26 PM

make the butterfly out of inconel and i bet it won't give you any problems. i say with a little development, it'd be a good candidate for a sequential twin setup.

jreynish 11-26-04 03:05 PM

YES.. or a SERIES TURBO SETUP... (puts pinky finger at right corner of mounth)
*cackles evily*

GUITARJUNKIE28 11-26-04 07:07 PM

jreynish 11-26-04 07:09 PM
