fixed idle/bac issues>more problems??

so i finally got the bac and idle issues taken care of... idles rock solid around 800 w/accessories.... no fast idle issues either... but now>>> I installed my Safc to help tune this bay up get some better milage... the fucker want to fall on its face anytime you stomp the throttle.. what i mean is >regular soft driving its fine .. but when you apply throttle more than quarter it stutters... i can be nice to the gas and ride the tac up to about 5000 even 6000 rpm's no prob. but apply some more gas for spirited driing and pfpfpfpfppfpfpfpfpfp.....wtf... so here is the thing safc is hooked correctly no adjustments no fuel added none taken away.... just hooked up.... but it didn't do it before....... so you say ok SAFC... but I've double and triple checked wiring and settings.... tps is new and adjusted perfect.... before the safc it would run like a raped ape... checked all vac lines. checked injectors- wiring- new fuel filter- new plugs -perfect grounding..... the funny thing is my old TII had a similar problem never figured out motor blew oil rings. It flabergasted many people.. never found ... I dare you to figure this one.,....

would or could the SAFC with no corrections affect driveabilty???if settings are correct??

sounds like something in your safc may not be set right. recheck the settings according to your series of car. did you space the grounds correctly and the right distance apart?

the safc may be faulty too, but first just make sure everythings connected, and what did you use to connect it? make sure you use solder, and NEVER use quick splices.. those things are teh goddamn devil

edit: so you checked your wiring? one more time are the grounds correct. and the only thing left to worry about is the connections you used. use a multimeter to check for continuity of signal from afm to ecu. see if theres any loss

yea that about where i'm at it's freezing outside I have a garage to work in tomarrow.... connections are soldered... grounding is spaced ... how crutial is the spacing and what is everyone using, 1cm right.... if its not one thing its another....

the safc is working properly its set for FL-6 4 cyl and the arrow points up to the right.... added some fuel at idle smoothed the bigger ports at idle..... what I don't get is this motor even ported ran like a raped ape on stock ecu... i added the safc just to help.....???? I'm about to rip the thing out.... also if i un hook the safc at the connector and complete the airflow circuit it should run right.....
see if it still persists...

When you go to sensor check, what are the readings? Are you connected to the tps or the boost/pressure sensor?

astrochild7 01-10-05 04:45 PM

tps all the voltages look good..... so last night i change the hi lo settings a little and its running great again.......lo 28% hi 50% ??? but no fuel added or taken so why should that matter... its almost like its a loose wire.. may not even be pertainning to SAFC..... before this motor blew, I had a intermitten prob.. just a complete loss of engine power under any throttle... completely random and about once a week... nver found prob.... almost like a loss of ignition for a sec...
