It looks like ****. It looks like someone scarfed ab FD interior into an FC. Nothing fits and unless you can do fiberglass and do it well, don't even bother

Sorry, I don't see how my post has anything to do with any debts? I said that FD interior parts (that aren't broken up) are not cheap.........and took a rip at ChaoticFC because I'm not a fan of his. To answer your question though I owe just under 50K on my first home and 76K on the 6 bay + 1400sq/ft office we added onto the body shop 3 years ago..........no CC debt or loans.

I'm glad to answer any questions - but I fail to see what my debt has to do with anything posted, or with this thread.

Sorry for the confusion, COMPLETLY my fault on that one - I meant that chaotic clown that I am much less of a fan of. That's what I was referring to when I posted about owng money, sorry for that little bit of confusion. I was responding by laughing at your rip, then making the comment about debt.

Yeah, nothing personal, OP, but this is stupid.

FD != FC.

The 2nd Gen scene is rarely about appearance. We do drool over sexy, clean FC's, but generally we admire performance more. If you're overly worried about style, get a VW.

I was looking to do an FD interior swap at first. After looking around my area in South Florida I was able to find an interior from an FD but these don't come cheap. I was looking at an all black interior.

Dash with missing air vent pieces, wire harness and ac unit that are connected to the dash
center console with center insert that holds the shifter
both door panels

This was going to run me about 1000 dollars

Well after all my looking for Fd interiors and over priced rx-7 parts :P I decided to go with the stock interior and redo it all in fiberglass or carbon fiber. I will recreate the entire dash and connected pieces. I will post some pic's when im done with the project. I like the FD interior but not worth the money that it will take to install everything and make it look right.

Good luck to you hopefully you can find the parts cheaper then i could find them :P

Yeah, not to be a dick but alot of people have talked about doing an FD swap and I've only seen one and it looked like uncompleted ****. A dingleberry if you will.

Others have talked about FG replacement dashes and I've only seen one in a stripped out racecar that while looked good, was functional only from a race car stand point.

I call BS until I see pics

I posted about Dragon's FC over on nopistons.com months and months ago. Apparently nobody searched it out. Here's the pictures. No, I have no clue how he did it, and I don't even know if he has that FC anymore. It was from a 3+ year old thread.

your talking to chaotic right? Because that is exactly what I was thinking. I cant help but remember that cf wide body thread.

I saw a 67 Camaro with a 2000 interior. It was properly done and look good. All the fd interiors I have seen in fc's are block aways they look good until you can actually see them then you notice all the imperfections.

I concur.

Personally, I don't think it flows well with the design of the 2nd gen. However, I'll admit, I'm blown away at the work put into doing this.

No - no one on this thread has done it. Believe me pal, owning an FC and having an FD dash I threw it in the car for the hell of it. It's nowhere close to fitting properly. When I said fiberglass experience I meant in making plugs, molds and then pulling pieces becuase, at least in my opinion, in order to make it fit and look nice, there would be alot of one off trim pieces that would need to either be made, or scarfed onto the FD dash which aren't cheap to begin with

it would be more cost effective to just design your dash to look like an FD.

I would also be interested in doing something like this. Has anyone got any decent pictures of the conversion. What areas need attention to make it fit snug and clean??

If you have to ask, you can't do it. Like it was said.

But to help you out. The ends of the dash, the center console, the door panels need to be extended as well, and also the interior door handles and locks are different.

This thread resurrection just makes me miss TT. His antics and general lack of patients for stupidity really kept this forum in line.
