Factory Security Undo?

How can I undo my annoying factory security system on my FC? It keeps alarming for no reason!!!

You simply have a sensor that is acting up

Explain the circumstances. That is, is this issue on that it arms on it's own or that it goes off AFTER you arm it on purpose or for no apparent reason.

There are only 4 triggers, the two doors, the trunk and the hood. They ALL have to be set for it to arm in the first place. So, if it's arming, then they are working to some degree. But one of them might be loose, giving false trigger both ways.

With more intel, I, Icemark (I know he'll see this one), and a few others can help.

It seems to arm itself when I lock my doors The thing is you can beat the car and try to get the alarm to sound and it doesnt. It only sounds about 1 time every six months for no reason.

Sorry for multiple post AOL is laggin me to death:) :) :)

Most common culprits are dirty door lock switches (the internal slider you push down to lock the door) and dirty pin switches on the door. Real easy to clean up and get working again.

If you want to totally disable the system, just unplug the security system brain. It's a metal box attached to the panel underneath the glove box.

Wait....do you have an S4 or S5. The location of the alarms ARE different.

Actually, I believe the alarm brain is in the same place on all 2nd gens. If not, it's damn close :).

The stock system does not have a shock or impact sensor, so pounding on the doors will only get you dents.

The only FC with a shock was one that the dealer installed aftermarket, or that you have a 10AE (since 90% of them had the factory option).

The factory system will arm if you lock the doors from the inside latchs. That is how it works.

This may be a really stupid question but how do you turn off the alarm after it has gone off? I have the factory alarm onmy 88 GTU stock and have never used it because I don't know how to turn it off lol.

When it starts alarming all you have to do is use your key and unlock the door to disarm it.

O sweet lol....I should start using it then prolly. Thanx!

S5's alarm ecu's are behind the kick panel on the drivers side.

S5's alarm ecu's are behind the kick panel on the drivers side

And this same ECU is what controls the interior light delay, turn signal, emegency flasher, king left in the ignition and light left on ding ding ding, etc etc etc

Then S4 is a metal box under the glove box?
