Experience With Rotary Extreme FC2000?
 

Im planning on buying a rotary extreme fc2000 front bumper+light kit for my turbo s4. What experience do people on the forum have with fitment/looks on the kit? Any negative feedback? Thanks.

Same questions plus... where are the front turn signals located?

Front turn signals are relocated with the headlights.
You'll see low beam light, high beam light, and a smaller light for turn signal.

Anybody ever fit this kit on a S4. It says that only minor work around the fender is needed, but how much work are we talkin?

You absolutely have to hack the center section if you're using the Trust / GReddy FMIC kit.

I think you also need to hack the side ducts due to the brake ducts for a Zenki / S4.

There are some fitment issues with it, but nothing major. My car is an S4 and I took several pictures of my install process and posted them on my website (link in sig, then choose FC2000 link at left). Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any other questions.

As RETed said, the brake ducts on the car will have to be modified a bit (though I just hacked a section of mine off with intentions of doing a better job on it later).

Edit: As a side note, I converted the slits above the headlights on my bumper to be parking lights and is not how the normal bumper comes.

i was worried that this bumper would not look good with stock side skirts and rear bumper, does it hang lower than a stock?

Yes, I'd say about 2-3" max

link at left doesnt work and I really like your car except one thing and I dont want to sound picky but is there any way you can put spacers on the rear to get rid of the gap?

bought the bumper and to fit it to my s5 needes a gallon of fiberglass, i feel for the amount of money it should bolt right up, talked to some people with the real re kit and they said there was no fitting probs, so i sold my fake kit and am trying to find the best price on a real kit

just remember you get what you pay for

and suggest to find some side skirts cause doesnt look right with just the front bumper (front end just way lower then the rest of the car), but remember 700 bux for the re side skirts

I have it and the over all quaility of the kit is great but you get some driving lights in a box with no type of harness or adapter. Also he is giving people back who are back ordered 50 bucks because the plasic light covers are straight from home depot. both mine need to be replaced because they don't even come close to fitting. In my opinion fuck this guy and don't buy his shit. I waited 3 months for the light covers and go finally got some plastic from lowes racing department and 50 bucks back. Oh yeah and not to mention but he sends you stuff in three different shipments and keeps charging your credit card number for shipping each time without letting you know. Buyer Beware!!!!!

That's actually something that bugs me as well and I'll be looking into either spacers or a wider rear tire, but that will be after the paint job ;)


I actually agree with you on the headlight deal. I didn't like the mounting kit at all so I decided to make my own (which was a pain). The headlight covers are definitely not worth $100 (even after the $50 refund) and do need modification to get them to fit. I also bought a speed-nut/rivet-nut tool to make another spot for the headlight cover to bolt down better.

This bumper does take some work to make fit, but nothing that I consider to be too far out of the norm. Yes, that is my car on his website and no, I did not receive anything for use of the pictures so that is not why I am "mostly for" this bumper. He asked permission to use the pics, and I gave it. Again, these are only my opinions on the bumper and to me, it was well worth it.

I am with you on this because I found the same plastic at home depot for 12 bucks a sheet. And yes I will need to come up with some other way to get it fastened down because of not water will get in a then i will have a real mess.
Don't but this unless you have a cuple of weeks to have it molded in and all the electical worked out. Not to mention their is no mounting plate to keep the lights straight so those will have to be set. I plan to get that kit on and worked out this winter when the car is in storage

White Seven, was your buying experience with these guys similar to Bukwild's? How were the light covers that came with your kit?

My buying experience with them was just fine and I had no problems. Chuck did his best to keep me informed of the headlight cover situation and if a length of time went by that he didn't keep me up to date, I would ask and he'd reply. As for the headlight covers, I already stated above what I thought but over all, I would skip buying the covers he's currently using and just make some on your own. As it stands, the covers he supplies have to be trimmed in some areas so they fit, the mounting holes have to be drilled, and an additional mounting location needs to be made in both the headlight cover and the bumper itself to keep one corner of the headlight cover down. Overall though, I am more than happy with the purchase/fitment/quality. If I had to replace my bumper for any reason, I would still buy another from Rotary Extreme.

my brother-in-law got the same kit, took excessively long to recieve bumper, covers will not work NO REFUND FOR COVERS bumper came CRACKED they said could not do anything about it. he has 87 TII lots of customizing to get fitment right! just my $.02

and this is why i sold mine and am looking into buying a real 1, healight covers come ready and screwed in and looks perfect fitment issues not as bad also, but yes it is a xtra 400 bux for the real kit

1. I have explained it many times why it took so long to get the covers. We dont' make those covers in house and the plastic shop can't get the job done right. You never paid for the covers because the covers were given to you for free. I still gave people $50 back just because I feel bad. You can buy Lexan sheet from your local hardware store but they don't come trimmed, do they?

2. When did I ever charge you for shipping every time I shipped you something? You paid with paypal and I don't even have your credit card number. You paid $950 ($1000-$50 refund) for the bumper. All the shipping costs for the lights and covers were out of my pocket. I would like to see a scan of your credit card statement that shows all those shipping charges that you claimed.

3. The orginal bumper needs some work to fit right as well. If you do a search on the forum, there is a tread about it.

All the covers were done at the same time. I don't know why they do not work with your brother in law's bumper. I have never received any email regarding that. If the bumper was cracked during shipping, he should have contacted the freight company. The bumper was shipped insured and you paid for insurance. The bumper was designed for 89-91 FC. If you want to put in on a 87, some trimming and modification is required. It was clearly stated on the website.

If you want the original one, you will need to pay $1650. It comes with some cheap fog lights which has worse lighting in stock, and the fitment is the same. I tried to come out with products that are more affordable and with better lighting and this is what I get. This is very depressing.

Don't sweat it Chuck. For anyone that needs to see what kind of fitment issues there are with the bumper they just have to go visit my website. I took pictures of my install and I am a novice when it comes to bodywork, but I managed just fine! I will say though, the Hella lighting ROCKS!
