Exhaust....none Coffee can (Honda)
So at the moment im putting together a list of after market parts that i wanna add to my 7 when i get it. (ya know just to see whats what and how much its gonna cost. blah blah blah what mods im doing first yada yada)
and im on exhaust and i wanna know what types of exhaust u guys have and which ones you recommend(regardless of price and what not cause i know it wont be cheap) and which ones i should stay away from. like the coffee cans that i see strapped to alot of cars around here. I was thinking full HKS exhaust system but idk just yet what yall think? |
Honestly bro. its hard to do exhaust wrong. I personally like the look of the tanabe sport (oval) mufflers and tips. they look clean as hell on fc's. I myself have the Apex N1 which you might call "coffee can" but it sounds sick as fuck, very deep tone, not raspy or ricey at all.
Is your car turbo or na? |
RB looks pretty stock and sounds nice its just not my cup of tea. Alot of people will try to tell you there is racing beat or theres nothing.
|
cant go wrong with racing beat.
|
I like the old Greddy kit personally. Owned one once, I just dont have that kind of cash to get a another one.
|
i have a duel A'pexi dunk system with a 3" rb downpipe. love the sound. not loud at all untill you get on it. Then it has a nice deep sound. Not chainsaw like at all.

Is your car turbo or na? I think im gonna go with an na. cause with turbos come problems im not ready to deal with yet. i wanna know my car before i do that. and the turbos would make working on it alot harder as well. |

save the cash...soon you will have to spend a lot of literally steps first 1 get the car 2 fix whats wrong with it 3 full tune up 4 then mod you are going backwards here ,remember you aint playing with hondas here |

yea, agreed, get the car first. Also, being that FCs are older cars, get suspension work done first. I went for power first, but now kind of regret it.
-Bert PS: the exhaust I have currently on my FC is the Apexi GT spec exhaust. It's got a nice low deep tone, but being that I live in the communist republic of california, I've been constantly harassed by our beloved city police for (supposed broken exhaust, unusual noise, and also modified exhaust). |
well like im not buying the stuff now im just making a list and prcing things seeing how much its gonna run me. as for buying the car im waiting trying to find that special one like i said that catches me. im kinda picky so yea. i just wanna know which exhaust systems the rotary gurus feel sound and look the best.
i hear alot about racing beat. and im likin HKS anybody got any others? |

am i right or wrong....seriously oh and people tend to put aftermarket parts on them but wont rebuild them research the rx7 before you plan on buying it. I can say i didnt research it and it kinda just fell into my lap, but now that i know more about them im not so thrilled on owning one. Be aware that they dont get the greatest gas mileage, and they inject oil. But all in all its a nice car if you keep it in healthy condition. |
