Exhaust manifold removal S4 NA

Hey Guys,

For the past 2 days i've been starting to remove my exhaust manifold and put on another one since mine is cracked. So far I have: Taken out the negative cable fromthe battery, removed o2 sensor, removed port valve actuators, acv but still connected to a hose, bottom heat shield, top heat shield but not completely removed but out of way. What is really frustrating is that I can't get the nuts off of the stupid manifold, it's not that they're on too tight its that it's in such a inconvinent area that Removal is going to be a bitch and installation will be VERY hard. Does anyone have a complete walk through or something? or tips I'm really mad, If I don't have my exhaust manifold taken off and installed with my new one by the end of the week, I'm taking it to a shop. Thanks alot. Btw I've only gotten the bottom left nut if your looking at the manifold straight, I think I can get the top 2 But the bottom right is so hard!

Thanks again!

I get to the bottom two nuts from underneath the car and the top two from under the hood. I don't know about an S4, but on an S5 you remove the six port actuators to get to the top nuts. The ACV stays in place. I remove the heat shielding when I do it. Four nuts hold the shielding in place. What are you replacing it with? RB header?

Lastly, when you put it back together you may want to use antiseize.

I'm replacing it with another oem exhaust manifold, I took it off today, I took off the bottom right from the top and a knuckle. I think a few stress cracks, and the gasket was destroyed, a 1 inch gap between the 2 pre-cats must've also been making it loud and lose power (backpressure), gutted main cat too... getting the gasket tommorow, gonna be a bitch to put all that backon. Sorry to sound like a newb but what's antiseize?
