actually yeah, the large hex screw on the back needs to be close to it's stock position. it is possible it could need to be cleaned again. I did mine twice. Maybe somebody else could chime in.

Sounds a little like Limp mode because of a bad OMP. Maybe. Check the codes out. Download the Fuel section of the FSM and it'll show you how and what the codes represent.

That does not address the idle problem though, just the driving part of your question. BAC should only effect the idle speed and starting the engine.

Dude...don't tear into your car if you don't know much about it..at least read up on everything there is to read up on. It's probably in Limp Mode because of an OMP failure. OMP Is the Oil Metering Pump, It injects fuel into the housing to lubricate it during combustion. FSM is the Field Service Manual, you can download it off the internet here or you can buy one. Haynes manual is just as good.

Oh yeah and OMP code sometimes ends up to be an ECU gone as well.
A lot of S5 problems on here I've read are usually an OMP going, throwing a code, involving gone ECU etc etc. If you absolutely have to drive the car make sure you premix the fuel, which means add 2 stroke oil everytime you fill up....I'm braindead and can't remember the correct ratio right now...sorry. Download the FSM, do what it says for an OMP code, and you should be fine.

Key word in Oil Metering Pump......OIL. It injects oil from the crankcase. not fuel

And to answer the OP's question along with everyone else, i would agree about the limp mode due to OMP failure. check your codes. Check the FAQ too. There might be something in there. Wouldnt hurt to search either
