engine, cat ? HELP

my car will not start. the only thing that i can find wrong with it is that it has low or no compression on the second rotor. but somebody told me that since the cat gets red hot after driving for some time that the cat is clogged and if i would get a new car that would give compression back and the engine will be fine. i do not believe this guy but i wanted to ask to see if somebody knew something that i do not

Assuming that the cat could actually cause such a problem, why would it be localized to a single rotor on a car that has a single exhaust pipe containing the cats. Sounds like bullshit to me! Evene if you were to put a plate over your exhaust port and weld it closed, your engine should still make compression.

if you have no compression on the rear rotor then then engine is blown. that is why it won't start.

the more you try to start it. the more damage you will do. making it more $$ to fix it (rebuild it)

I guess if you want pull the cats off so only the manifold is there. and do another compression test. I just wouldn't start it like that.
