engine

I am looking for a used s4 nonturbo engine and am wondering what a fair price is for a engine with 100k on it. Still runs good.

Can one of you guys specify what bolt ons come with a long block?

Also, please don't say "All of them" without specifying :P I need to know ahead of time which ones to sell with the engine.

I left you a pm jumpy. Short or long block is fine for me. Just msg me back letting me know what you want for a price and we get negotiate from there.

I am not sure what is exactly on a long block. But I am pretty sure its the alt, p/s , a/c , airpump, the pullys, waterpump, i guess all the wiriing, vac lines and such too? Someone fill in whatelse I am missing here. Or if something i mentioned is not on a long block.

Yeah, I've got all that stuff. I don't know how easy it's going to be for me to find an Airpump, though, and all the A/C you can get from me is the compressor. Wiring I dunno, because that's kind of car, ECU oriented, though I don't know if I'll be keeping my wiring for my new project. And my vaccuum lines are very old... I'm not so sure you want that stuff.

Anyway, someone please clarify the specifics.

"I" consider a longblock to be:
The Keg
Exhaust manifold
Intake manifold
Throttle Body
Water pump housing an water pump
Injectors and injector rails
the rats nest
Emission Solenoids
Crank Angle Sensor
Engine Mount "Ears" not the actual rubber mount
Flywheel or AT Counterweight/flexplate
All sensors connected to the block/manifolds (unless specified otherwise)

I consider the following as accessories:
Alternator
PS Pump
Air Pump
PS/AC Compressor Bracket
AC Compressor
Emmisions Harness
Power Harness

So John, you take your engine manifolds off while still in the car in order to leave the engine (emissions) wiring harness off the engine? Isnt that the hard way of doing things?

For info on what I consider the easiest removal techniques, long and short blocks with tear down instructions and pictures, check out the tech section of my webpage www.rotaryresurrection.com.

Im just providing information, there is not really a "right" or "wrong" way to do the job, just easy and hard.

Kevin: Who is debating on how to remove the engine.? 90% of the time I remove with the harness attached. I was just telling what I consider to be the longblock. If you will notice, the Engine removal write-up on my page is wih the Emissions harness attached
