I'm got an emtpy reservoir on the passenger side of the firewall. It has two vacuum lines and i think an electrical connector, which I was assuming was for some sort of liquid pump inside the reservoir. In any case, the reservoir is empty and the vacuum hose going from the tank to under the intake manifold keeps blowing off. Every time it blows off, I get a high idle ~1600 RPM, which causes the idle to bounce and fluctuate. My question is, what is this reservoir for, and would there be any ill effects to simply blocking it off so it can't blow off any more? Thanks in advance

 

that bottle is for cold start ups. it doesn't work and mazda told people to remove it. just plug the vac lines up and remove the bottle. or you can leave it, but just plug off the lines.
