emissions take off thread help (everything emissions related removal)
so im swapping out turbos on my rx7
i want to remove all emissions related stuff, including the wires from the harness (de-pin) what size and how many vac caps are necessary? and where do they go? how do i do a proper rats nest removal? how do i remove the twin scroll system? which wires can i de-pin? i have teh block off plates already, and yohoo belt. thanks |
Best thing for the wires is to study the diagram and go from there. You will need to unwrap all of the engine harness. This will also help you to trace where the various wires splice into others, like the 12v wires.
There are several good threads on "rats nest removal" search for those for hose routing etc. Twin scroll requires some welding IIRC. GL |
there is no welding needed for the twin scroll. you just remove the flapper door and then tap the hole for a bolt and put in a bolt and locknut
|
i have an extra harness already un-loomed.
i kinda just wanted everything in one easy thread, for this work. |
bump
how about help with the wiring? |
search man, you will find it. i did.

cool that one helped..
|
do you know where the sub-zero block off plate looks like and where it goes????
thanks bryon |
also what size are bolts can i use to replace the studs???
thanks |
i think there was something on the rotary ressurrection site about this. but idk if it talks about the depinning
|
yea not much info on exactly what i can de-pin.....
|
i'm pretty sure they're just M6 bolt holes
|

You will also need about 6' of fuel line, because the ratnest is not only vac lines but also two fuel lines. Check some of these sites:
www.mazdatrix.com www.rotaryressurection.com www.fc3spro.com One of them is bound to have a write up. I suggest going to oriely's and getting a little set of vac caps with different sizes, extra vacuum lines (about 2'), and about 6' of fuel hose...and some rtv. Also, you asked about the sub zero; remove the upper intake manifold and you should see it attached to the inner side of the lower intake manifold. Good luck! |
cool thanks
im going to cut off the vac lines off the rats nest, and keep the hard fuel lines. |
