electrical problems

last night i turned my car on and it was already at operating temp but i noticed my two greddy gauges (temp and oil press). thats the first problem.
a friend told me to check out my fuse box and there was a fuse with a blue thing sticking out (sorry i dont know this stuff) so i pushed the fuse in a little more to maybe straighten it out (no fuse box cover) and i turned on my car

before when i turned it on, you would have to give it a little gas to get it to start up and it would have a steady idle at 1000prm. now it starts up cleaner, without gas and idles at 1500rpm which is not right at all.

help? please!
