1SxyRXy 02-20-05 10:03 PM

feiro fan rocks, i had it in my TII for a year and never overheated once, it kept me cool in traffic at 90+ dagrees

bignickFC 02-20-05 10:09 PM

2800cfm reco.

staticguitar313 02-20-05 10:28 PM

i dunno i'm from AZ and everyone out here says a good working stock fan is best, i went one better and painted mine red
P.S. ALWAYS KEEP THE FAN SHROUD and you can even mount an electric to that i've seen it done . . . fan shroud isn't there to protect your fingers (well it does that too but)

The stock fan in working order provides all the airflow you'll need. Is there something wrong with it? Why do you think you're going to destroy your car? How about a little useful info...

Project84 02-20-05 10:33 PM

Is your cooling system malfunctioning? Why are you looking to replace the stock fan?

good ol NZ, laying the smackdown as usuall.
I've been told that 2000cfm or higher is good enough, with a performance rad like koyo or the fluidyne.

lastphaseofthis 02-20-05 10:39 PM

For all of you who do not know felixs' recent adventures, he just put his engine back in his fc, but didnt put the fan shroud on, maybe its cracked/broken, maybe you dont like it, it dont matter, just make sure if u do go efan its more than 2800cfm, id go with like 2 smaller fans at 1500-2000 each to be on the safe side, but its more money, personaly unless i am in dire need of room, shroud it is. good luck :)

1SxyRXy 02-20-05 10:41 PM

yes the stock fan is the best over any eletric setup, but if you want to save space then go eletric but if not they stay with stock fan and shroud,i love the room with the eletric fan.. IMO

felixwankel88 02-20-05 11:09 PM

well the reason i wanna go to electric is im trying to clean up my engine bay, i know looks are what shouldent matter but i would like to go electric, i have a shroud i plan to put on my car(cracked fixed with epoxy)LOL that should be fine for a while... hell mabee ill just keep the stock fan

staticguitar313 02-20-05 11:17 PM

i would, worry about things like that last, just make sure your fan clutch works and the shroud is on there good and you'll be all set i love my stock fan

dont worry my shroud is on :bigthumb: but i had to take a pic of that sweet red paint, "thats hot"

Kenteth 02-20-05 11:18 PM

"no fan shroud, thats not hot"

YearsOfDecay 02-20-05 11:28 PM

I love the way my engine revs without the E-Fan... but i friggin HATE the how how it runs with the E-Fan.. Even with the Koyo Rad

E-fan is GONE, stock fan is back

If you got an N/A, go ahead and throw a black magic on that bad boy and you'll be cool...

I'm going to switch to evans coolant before I try the e-fan again...

Sir Rupert Hobo 02-20-05 11:29 PM

lol, i'm just playin with you...

Maybe you should set up your e-fan properly then. If you have it set up properly with a thermoswitch to turn on at certain temperatures you should have absolutely no problems with heat beacuse it'll turn on and start cooling when you want/need.

staticguitar313 02-20-05 11:34 PM

oh comeo ne why not run both types on fans come on now, you can never be to "cool" hahaha

i'm using a 2000cfm fan i bought at a local parts store new for $70, works great, i have it wired on all the time right now but it draws alot a current so my alt is working double time. I plan on hooking up a fan thermostat very soon so it's not constantally on

West TX RX-7 02-21-05 01:23 PM

perma cool finger chopper 2800cfm

heres some B&A pics of my setup. I used a 2000cfm fan (like i said before), a SPST relay with connector, and a GM Weatherpack connector on to the fan it's self. You can see the relay because it's blue  but i plan on replacing it with a black one

^ you there better off with the stock fan, at least the stock fan pull air through the ENTIRE RADIATOR SURFACE, shroud + aftermarket radiator + e-fan, if you drove your car out here in AZ with an electric fan setup like that without the shroud . . your car would die, and you might want to look into gettign a cone air filter . . . my Bonez/K&N filter kicks ass get one from rotary performance, well worth $120, just wait until i get my cold air box, and headlight vent set up woot woot :D
