Arrow Ebay Downpipe and Testpipe Questions

Hi all, I'm looking to replace my downpipe (which has been hacked and welded a few times now) and converter and was wondering if anyone else has purchased this and what kind of experience you've had with it. It look like a quality piece from the pic, but that can be decieving. Any info would be good. The seller appears to have good feedback and the price is right (195 shipped).
Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

On a side note: the flange that bolts from the cat to the y pipe are the same size between the turbo and n/a right? I have an S5 GTU with a swap. Thanks everyone!!

If you can't find anything else for cheaper, I'd go for it. But remember that you get what you pay for.

don't get an ebay muffler please :P

Naw, the rest of the exhaust will be stock. I just need something on the cheap side to get the car running. I'm hoping it'll last a year or 2 until I can get a nice exhaust for the car. It just seemed like a decent piece from the pic and wanted to see if anyone had tried it. If not, I may just be a guinea pig and write up my own review of the fitment and quality. I just wanted to see if anyone bought it and had it not fit properly at all.

You should buy an RB downpipe and have an exhaust shop make you a test pipe for cheap. The flange on that Ebay downpipe looks funky and weak.

What about this one. Bönez 2.5" Downpipe - 87-91 T2
http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fcexhaust.html#Turbo2

The description says it replaces all cats. Would it bolt to the factory y pipe. How much does a racing beat go for? I don't have any shops around here that seem to be willing to replace the cat, damn pussies.

In the ebay ad I didn't see mention of the pipe sizing other than ('free 3" test pipe'), so I guess you could assume the rest of it is pretty damn close to 3". Anyways I want to make you aware of what www.ssautochrome.com sells, they have a full 3" turbo back exhaust single driver side exit for $250 + shipping. I had it on my last TII and I loved it, well I actually got mine for $200 even brand new and no shipping of a local guy. Anyways it was a little loud unless you installed the silencer, but I definitely enjoyed it (not a daily driver). You will need supporting modifications to your vehicle to support the extra power tho.

RB sells a 2.5" downpipe for only $135 and you know it's gonna be higher quality, but a less power and you can buy it with a presilencer to attach to your stock exhaust (I assume) for a little extra.

No it won't bolt to the factory Y pipe. It replaces the 2 pre cats that usually inhabit the section of piping before the main cat. The exhaust shop won't want to do it if you say you want to replace your cat with a straight pipe... That would be illegal. You put your downpipe on and measure the distance to the Y pipe and then you go in there and say I need this pipe this long with flanges welded on... Done. My vote is for RB as their quality is next to none. http://www.racingbeat.com

Found a racing beat 2.5" with the silencer here for $245. For an extra $50 I'll get a quality piece so I think I'll probably go with this. It says it bolts to the factory y pipe so I think I'm good there.

If anyone knows of a place to get a better deal on it let me know. Otherwise I think I'll go with that.

On a side note, I know far to many people from another forum I'm on that have had horrid experiences with ssautochrome and will not take a chance on them. Quality or otherwise. On top of that in the end I do not want single exit.

Found something from them that will work for me, but couldn't find it on there site. The link in my above posts goes to it and they show it with the racing beat brand name. I'm going to call and inquire a bit more about it, but if racing beat does have it on there site I'd prefer to order it direct from them. Let me know if I'm wrong and just missed it.

I see, but I figured if you wanted something temporary it'd do. I have heard these stories too, but I guess there quality must be hit and miss because my exhaust system looked and worked very well. I also didn't have it too long though.

Now I have a RB 3" downpipe and 3" cat connected to the stock y pipe and mufflers, it's weird because it's so quite. As a matter of fact I can't wait to finish going 3" straight back to a single muffler (cheaper, lighter weight).

What kind of mufflers are you using?

Wow that is the cheapest I have seen anyone selling that stuff for. RB does have that same combo on their website under "exhaust components," but it is $100 more.

Watch out for ebay exhaust part fitment. You may need to chop and reweld flanges.

Dont quote me on that but we had a hell of a time fitting a no-name ebay store vendor exhaust to my friends dc2 integra. He's not the only one who has had issues and i told him it was going to fit like **** long before he clicked "buy it now".

racing beat exhaust is all different lengths from the stock exhaust system. basically i believe they did it that way so you would HAVE to buy the rest of the system to work as a unit or have to modify it to work.

my ebay exhaust worked perfect for 5 years(namely the downpipe and pre-silencer i used constantly, i swapped out the catback though), i would avoid the manifolds however.

The 2.5" DP and presilencer is made to fit the stock exhaust.
